It becomes a statement about\nwhat the server committed to only when you compare `computed_root` against a\nroot you obtained independently (the on-chain anchor).\n\n`verifyExportBundle` returns `ok: false` with a `reason` when the bundle is\ntruncated (`complete: false` — re-export with the CLI, which streams every\nentry), when the entry count disagrees, or when any entry was altered.\n\n### The algorithm, so you can reimplement it in any language\n\n```\nleaf(entry)      = SHA256( 0x00 || JCS(leafFields(entry)) )\nnode(left,right) = SHA256( 0x01 || left || right )     // children as lowercase hex\nroot([])         = SHA256( \"\" )\n```\n\n- `leafFields` is exactly these ten, and nothing else — `confidence`, `content`,\n  `domain`, `entry_type`, `is_encrypted`, `pii_flags`, `provenance`, `tags`,\n  `tombstoned_at`, `uuid`. Anything absent from the entry is `null`. Fields the\n  bundle also carries (`integrity_mac`, `embedding`, `created_at`, `updated_at`)\n  are deliberately outside the leaf, so re-embedding or re-importing an entry\n  does not move an anchored root.\n- `JCS` is RFC 8785 canonical JSON: keys sorted by UTF-16 code unit at **every**\n  level, `/` and non-ASCII left unescaped, ECMAScript number formatting.\n  `buildCanonicalLeaf(entry)` returns those exact bytes if you want to inspect them.\n- Leaves are combined in **ascending entry-uuid order**, not bundle order.\n- An odd trailing node is **promoted unchanged** to the next level, never\n  duplicated: duplicating it would make the leaf sets `[A,B,C]` and `[A,B,C,C]`\n  produce the same root (CVE-2012-2459), so the root would not commit to one\n  entry set.
