The daemon spawns it like any other agent-CLI arm; a user\ncan launch it standalone via `agentproto-claude-sdk acp`.\n\nI/O stays **100% Anthropic-native**: the SDK's message stream is relayed to ACP\n`session/update`s with no translation of the model I/O.\n\n## Why wrap the SDK directly?\n\nThe `@agentproto/adapter-claude-code` adapter wraps the third-party\n`@agentclientprotocol/claude-agent-acp` bridge. Driving the SDK directly instead\nbuys us:\n\n- **Clean model pinning** — `options.model`, no spawn-arg rejection (issue #186).\n- **Native usage telemetry** — a `usage_update` per turn (tokens + cost).\n- **Custom base URL** — `base_url` → `ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL`, so the same\n  Anthropic-native harness can front real Anthropic, Bedrock/Vertex/Azure, or an\n  Anthropic-compatible gateway (LiteLLM / claude-code-router). Each endpoint also serves OpenAI\nchat/completions-, OpenAI Responses- and (Zen only) Gemini-flavored models\nbehind the same base URL; those are unreachable from an Anthropic client and are\ndeliberately absent from this adapter's menu — run them through the `opencode`\nadapter instead. The menu is derived from the catalog's generated per-model\nsurface discriminator (`listOpencodeAnthropicModelRefs`), never hand-typed.\n\nNot verified live: no OpenCode key was available when this shipped, so unlike\nthe Moonshot / OpenRouter / Requesty rows above, these base URLs come from\nmodels.dev's published endpoints (`https://opencode.ai/zen/go/v1`,\n`https://opencode.ai/zen/v1`) minus the `/v1` the client appends, not from a\nsuccessful `claude -p` run.\n\n### Extended thinking\n\nSome gateway models are thinking-gated — `kimi-k2.7-code` rejects any request\nthat omits `thinking` (`invalid thinking: only type=enabled is allowed for this\nmodel`). The SDK's `query()` exposes `Options.thinking?: ThinkingConfig`\n(`{ type: 'adaptive' } | { type: 'enabled', budgetTokens? } | { type:\n'disabled' }`); the `thinking` boolean option pass-through sets\n`options.thinking = { type: 'enabled' }`.
