Pi. The extension registers\nexactly one tool, `agentry_select_context`, plus a deterministic adoption hook,\nand lazily loads the matching macOS or GNU Linux optional native package on\nfirst selection. The tool is an essential OMP tool so its schema is directly\navailable to the model rather than hidden behind the `xd://`\ndiscoverable-device transport.\n\nThere is no JavaScript fallback, sidecar, daemon, backend abstraction, or\nfilesystem mutation surface. Unsupported platforms fail before native import.\n\n## Install\n\nAfter the extension and native leaves are published, use the OMP version\ndeclared by this package's exact peer dependency and install through OMP's\nplugin manager:\n\n```bash\nbun install -g @oh-my-pi/pi-coding-agent@17.1.3\nomp plugin install @agentrystudio/omp-extension\n```\n\nThe install resolves exactly one optional native leaf for the current supported\nplatform. Launch `omp` from the workspace that should become the read-only\ncapability root.\n\nRepository development validates the equivalent packed local-plugin path with\n`make native-smoke`; it does not depend on unpublished registry artifacts.\n\n## Adoption modes\n\nSet `AGENTRY_ADOPTION` before launching OMP:\n\n- `preflight` (default): for prompts conservatively classified as repository\n  evidence tasks, `before_agent_start` runs the same native selector/session\n  path as `agentry_select_context`, injects its result as a custom message, and\n  appends a conditional context-loop instruction. The model consumes the lead\n  first, re-selects only when scope or evidence changes, then verifies exact\n  source. A successful selection with no evidence falls back to guidance.\n- `preflight_guided`: preserves the `preflight` selection and custom-message\n  injection, then also appends the general context-loop instruction. If\n  preflight fails, times out, or selects no evidence, this mode falls back to\n  guidance without injecting a custom message.\n- `guided`: injects only the context-loop instruction without running native\n  selection.\n- `off`: registers the tool but no adoption hook, preserving the original\n  opt-in behavior.\n\n`preflight` remains the default because deterministic selection has preserved\nanswer quality while materially reducing latency and tokens. Its conditional\ninstruction avoids an immediate duplicate selection: the model calls\n`agentry_select_context` again only after task scope narrows, the working\nhypothesis changes, or required evidence is missing. `preflight_guided` remains\navailable for stronger experimental adoption. An unknown value fails safely to\n`off`; an unset or empty value uses the default.\n\nThe trigger deliberately favors precision over recall. It accepts repository\nactions with an explicit path/symbol, or with scoped/dense code-artifact\nsignals; evidence questions likewise need a path/symbol or several\nrepository-specific signals. Sparse cases additionally need scoping language\nsuch as `this`, `current`, or `exact`.\nEmpty prompts, greetings, creative writing, and general-knowledge questions do\nnot trigger. This avoids paying for or injecting workspace evidence into\nobviously unrelated turns.\n\nPreflight uses `auto` selection with the native minimum 10,000-token evidence\nbudget and a 1.5-second extension-side deadline. The native budget bounds the\ninjected file content. In `preflight`, successful empty selections retain the\ngeneral context-loop instruction, while errors, malformed responses, and\ntimeouts silently skip injection. In `preflight_guided`, all of those cases\nretain the general context-loop instruction. Timeout work is aborted and\ngeneration-fenced so it cannot poison the next tool call. Repository contents\nremain untrusted evidence, not instructions. Embedded\ncallers of `createAgentryExtension` may override `adoptionMode` and\n`adoptionTimeoutMs`; the installed plugin needs only `AGENTRY_ADOPTION`.\n\n## Direct tool use\n\nThe tool remains available in every mode. To request selection explicitly:\n\n```text\nCall agentry_select_context to gather the most relevant context for fixing the\nauthentication refresh timeout, then continue using the selected evidence.\n```\n\nUse the tool as a refinement loop, not as an unconditional duplicate:\n\n1. Consume adequate preflight evidence before making another selection.\n2. Call `agentry_select_context` when no adequate lead exists, before broad\n   exploration.\n3. Call it again with refined instructions or paths when task scope narrows,\n   the working hypothesis changes, or selected evidence is incomplete.\n4. Verify exact facts in selected files with `read` and available symbol-aware\n   tools.\n\n\nThe request supports path, extension, and exclusion hints, a token budget from\n10,000 through 200,000, and `auto`, `full`, or `codemap_only` selection.
