\nThis repo provides the skeleton to get you started with using Medusa. Follow the steps below to get ready.\n

\n\n## Prerequisites\n\nThis starter has minimal prerequisites and most of these will usually already be installed on your computer.\n\n- [Install Node.js](https://nodejs.org/en/download/)\n- [Install git](https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2/Getting-Started-Installing-Git)\n- [Install SQLite](https://www.sqlite.org/download.html)\n\n## Setting up your store\n\n- Install the Medusa CLI\n ```\n npm install -g @medusajs/medusa\n yarn global add @medusajs/medusa\n ```\n- Create a new Medusa project\n ```\n medusa new my-medusa-store\n ```\n- Run your project\n ```\n cd my-medusa-store\n medusa develop\n ```\n\nYour local Medusa server is now running on port **9000**.\n\n### Seeding your Medusa store\n\n---\n\nTo seed your medusa store run the following command:\n\n```\nmedusa seed -f ./data/seed.json\n```\n\nThis command seeds your database with some sample data to get you started, including a store, an administrator account, a region and a product with variants. What the data looks like precisely you can see in the `./data/seed.json` file.\n\n## Setting up your store with Docker\n\n- Install the Medusa CLI\n ```\n npm install -g @medusajs/medusa-cli\n ```\n- Create a new Medusa project\n ```\n medusa new my-medusa-store\n ```\n- Update project config in `medusa-config.js`:\n\n ```\n module.exports = {\n projectConfig: {\n redis_url: REDIS_URL,\n database_url: DATABASE_URL, //postgres connectionstring\n database_type: \"postgres\",\n store_cors: STORE_CORS,\n admin_cors: ADMIN_CORS,\n },\n plugins,\n };\n ```\n\n- Run your project\n\n When running your project the first time `docker compose` should be run with the `build` flag to build your container locally:\n\n ```\n docker-compose up --build\n ```\n\n When running your project subsequent times you can run docker compose with no flags to spin up your local environment in seconds:\n\n ```\n docker-compose up\n ```\n\nYour local Medusa server is now running on port **9000**.\n\n### Seeding your Medusa store with Docker\n\n---\n\nTo add seed data to your medusa store running with Docker, run this command in a seperate terminal:\n\n```\ndocker exec medusa-server medusa seed -f ./data/seed.json\n```\n\nThis will execute the previously described seed script in the running `medusa-server` Docker container.\n\n## Try it out\n\n```\ncurl -X GET localhost:9000/store/products | python -m json.tool\n```\n\nAfter the seed script has run you will have the following things in you database:\n\n- a User with the email: admin@medusa-test.com and password: supersecret\n- a Region called Default Region with the countries GB, DE, DK, SE, FR, ES, IT\n- a Shipping Option called Standard Shipping which costs 10 EUR\n- a Product called Cool Test Product with 4 Product Variants that all cost 19.50 EUR\n\nVisit [docs.medusa-commerce.com](https://docs.medusa-commerce.com) for further guides.\n\n
