Effective Date\n\nThe licenses granted in Section 2.1 with respect to any Contribution\nbecome effective for each Contribution on the date the Contributor first\ndistributes such Contribution.\n\n2.3. Limitations on Grant Scope\n\nThe licenses granted in this Section 2 are the only rights granted under\nthis License. No additional rights or licenses will be implied from the\ndistribution or licensing of Covered Software under this License.\nNotwithstanding Section 2.1(b) above, no patent license is granted by a\nContributor:\n\n(a) for any code that a Contributor has removed from Covered Software;\n    or\n\n(b) for infringements caused by: (i) Your and any other third party's\n    modifications of Covered Software, or (ii) the combination of its\n    Contributions with other software (except as part of its Contributor\n    Version); or\n\n(c) under Patent Claims infringed by Covered Software in the absence of\n    its Contributions.\n\nThis License does not grant any rights in the trademarks, service marks,\nor logos of any Contributor (except as may be necessary to comply with\nthe notice requirements in Section 3.4).\n\n2.4. Subsequent Licenses\n\nNo Contributor makes additional grants as a result of Your choice to\ndistribute the Covered Software under a subsequent version of this\nLicense (see Section 10.2) or under the terms of a Secondary License (if\npermitted under the terms of Section 3.3).\n\n2.5. Representation\n\nEach Contributor represents that the Contributor believes its\nContributions are its original creation(s) or it has sufficient rights\nto grant the rights to its Contributions conveyed by this License.\n\n2.6. Fair Use\n\nThis License is not intended to limit any rights You have under\napplicable copyright doctrines of fair use, fair dealing, or other\nequivalents.\n\n2.7. Conditions\n\nSections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4 are conditions of the licenses granted\nin Section 2.1.\n\n3. Responsibilities\n-------------------\n\n3.1. Distribution of Source Form\n\nAll distribution of Covered Software in Source Code Form, including any\nModifications that You create or to which You contribute, must be under\nthe terms of this License. You must inform recipients that the Source\nCode Form of the Covered Software is governed by the terms of this\nLicense, and how they can obtain a copy of this License. You may not\nattempt to alter or restrict the recipients' rights in the Source Code\nForm.\n\n3.2. Distribution of Executable Form\n\nIf You distribute Covered Software in Executable Form then:\n\n(a) such Covered Software must also be made available in Source Code\n    Form, as described in Section 3.1, and You must inform recipients of\n    the Executable Form how they can obtain a copy of such Source Code\n    Form by reasonable means in a timely manner, at a charge no more\n    than the cost of distribution to the recipient; and\n\n(b) You may distribute such Executable Form under the terms of this\n    License, or sublicense it under different terms, provided that the\n    license for the Executable Form does not attempt to limit or alter\n    the recipients' rights in the Source Code Form under this License.\n\n3.3. Distribution of a Larger Work\n\nYou may create and distribute a Larger Work under terms of Your choice,\nprovided that You also comply with the requirements of this License for\nthe Covered Software. If the Larger Work is a combination of Covered\nSoftware with a work governed by one or more Secondary Licenses, and the\nCovered Software is not Incompatible With Secondary Licenses, this\nLicense permits You to additionally distribute such Covered Software\nunder the terms of such Secondary License(s), so that the recipient of\nthe Larger Work may, at their option, further distribute the Covered\nSoftware under the terms of either this License or such Secondary\nLicense(s).\n\n3.4. Notices\n\nYou may not remove or alter the substance of any license notices\n(including copyright notices, patent notices, disclaimers of warranty,\nor limitations of liability) contained within the Source Code Form of\nthe Covered Software, except that You may alter any license notices to\nthe extent required to remedy known factual inaccuracies.\n\n3.5. Application of Additional Terms\n\nYou may choose to offer, and to charge a fee for, warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability obligations to one or more recipients of Covered\nSoftware. However, You may do so only on Your own behalf, and not on\nbehalf of any Contributor. You must make it absolutely clear that any\nsuch warranty, support, indemnity, or liability obligation is offered by\nYou alone, and You hereby agree to indemnify every Contributor for any\nliability incurred by such Contributor as a result of warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability terms You offer. You may include additional\ndisclaimers of warranty and limitations of liability specific to any\njurisdiction.\n\n4. Inability to Comply Due to Statute or Regulation\n---------------------------------------------------\n\nIf it is impossible for You to comply with any of the terms of this\nLicense with respect to some or all of the Covered Software due to\nstatute, judicial order, or regulation then You must: (a) comply with\nthe terms of this License to the maximum extent possible; and (b)\ndescribe the limitations and the code they affect. Such description must\nbe placed in a text file included with all distributions of the Covered\nSoftware under this License. Except to the extent prohibited by statute\nor regulation, such description must be sufficiently detailed for a\nrecipient of ordinary skill to be able to understand it.\n\n5. Termination\n--------------\n\n5.1. The rights granted under this License will terminate automatically\nif You fail to comply with any of its terms. However, if You become\ncompliant, then the rights granted under this License from a particular\nContributor are reinstated (a) provisionally, unless and until such\nContributor explicitly and finally terminates Your grants, and (b) on an\nongoing basis, if such Contributor fails to notify You of the\nnon-compliance by some reasonable means prior to 60 days after You have\ncome back into compliance. Moreover, Your grants from a particular\nContributor are reinstated on an ongoing basis if such Contributor\nnotifies You of the non-compliance by some reasonable means, this is the\nfirst time You have received notice of non-compliance with this License\nfrom such Contributor, and You become compliant prior to 30 days after\nYour receipt of the notice.\n\n5.2. If You initiate litigation against any entity by asserting a patent\ninfringement claim (excluding declaratory judgment actions,\ncounter-claims, and cross-claims) alleging that a Contributor Version\ndirectly or indirectly infringes any patent, then the rights granted to\nYou by any and all Contributors for the Covered Software under Section\n2.1 of this License shall terminate.\n\n5.3. In the event of termination under Sections 5.1 or 5.2 above, all\nend user license agreements (excluding distributors and resellers) which\nhave been validly granted by You or Your distributors under this License\nprior to termination shall survive termination.\n\n************************************************************************\n*                                                                      *\n*  6. Disclaimer of Warranty                                           *\n*  -------------------------                                           *\n*                                                                      *\n*  Covered Software is provided under this License on an \"as is\"       *\n*  basis, without warranty of any kind, either expressed, implied, or  *\n*  statutory, including, without limitation, warranties that the       *\n*  Covered Software is free of defects, merchantable, fit for a        *\n*  particular purpose or non-infringing. Miscellaneous\n----------------\n\nThis License represents the complete agreement concerning the subject\nmatter hereof. If any provision of this License is held to be\nunenforceable, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent\nnecessary to make it enforceable. Any law or regulation which provides\nthat the language of a contract shall be construed against the drafter\nshall not be used to construe this License against a Contributor.\n\n10. Versions of the License\n---------------------------\n\n10.1. New Versions\n\nMozilla Foundation is the license steward. Except as provided in Section\n10.3, no one other than the license steward has the right to modify or\npublish new versions of this License. Each version will be given a\ndistinguishing version number.\n\n10.2. Effect of New Versions\n\nYou may distribute the Covered Software under the terms of the version\nof the License under which You originally received the Covered Software,\nor under the terms of any subsequent version published by the license\nsteward.\n\n10.3. Modified Versions\n\nIf you create software not governed by this License, and you want to\ncreate a new license for such software, you may create and use a\nmodified version of this License if you rename the license and remove\nany references to the name of the license steward (except to note that\nsuch modified license differs from this License).\n\n10.4. If the Larger Work is a combination of Covered\nSoftware with a work governed by one or more Secondary Licenses, and the\nCovered Software is not Incompatible With Secondary Licenses, this\nLicense permits You to additionally distribute such Covered Software\nunder the terms of such Secondary License(s), so that the recipient of\nthe Larger Work may, at their option, further distribute the Covered\nSoftware under the terms of either this License or such Secondary\nLicense(s).\n\n3.4. Notices\n\nYou may not remove or alter the substance of any license notices\n(including copyright notices, patent notices, disclaimers of warranty,\nor limitations of liability) contained within the Source Code Form of\nthe Covered Software, except that You may alter any license notices to\nthe extent required to remedy known factual inaccuracies.\n\n3.5. Application of Additional Terms\n\nYou may choose to offer, and to charge a fee for, warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability obligations to one or more recipients of Covered\nSoftware. However, You may do so only on Your own behalf, and not on\nbehalf of any Contributor. You must make it absolutely clear that any\nsuch warranty, support, indemnity, or liability obligation is offered by\nYou alone, and You hereby agree to indemnify every Contributor for any\nliability incurred by such Contributor as a result of warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability terms You offer. You may include additional\ndisclaimers of warranty and limitations of liability specific to any\njurisdiction.\n\n4. Inability to Comply Due to Statute or Regulation\n---------------------------------------------------\n\nIf it is impossible for You to comply with any of the terms of this\nLicense with respect to some or all of the Covered Software due to\nstatute, judicial order, or regulation then You must: (a) comply with\nthe terms of this License to the maximum extent possible; and (b)\ndescribe the limitations and the code they affect. Such description must\nbe placed in a text file included with all distributions of the Covered\nSoftware under this License. Except to the extent prohibited by statute\nor regulation, such description must be sufficiently detailed for a\nrecipient of ordinary skill to be able to understand it.\n\n5. Termination\n--------------\n\n5.1. The rights granted under this License will terminate automatically\nif You fail to comply with any of its terms. However, if You become\ncompliant, then the rights granted under this License from a particular\nContributor are reinstated (a) provisionally, unless and until such\nContributor explicitly and finally terminates Your grants, and (b) on an\nongoing basis, if such Contributor fails to notify You of the\nnon-compliance by some reasonable means prior to 60 days after You have\ncome back into compliance. Moreover, Your grants from a particular\nContributor are reinstated on an ongoing basis if such Contributor\nnotifies You of the non-compliance by some reasonable means, this is the\nfirst time You have received notice of non-compliance with this License\nfrom such Contributor, and You become compliant prior to 30 days after\nYour receipt of the notice.\n\n5.2. If You initiate litigation against any entity by asserting a patent\ninfringement claim (excluding declaratory judgment actions,\ncounter-claims, and cross-claims) alleging that a Contributor Version\ndirectly or indirectly infringes any patent, then the rights granted to\nYou by any and all Contributors for the Covered Software under Section\n2.1 of this License shall terminate.\n\n5.3. In the event of termination under Sections 5.1 or 5.2 above, all\nend user license agreements (excluding distributors and resellers) which\nhave been validly granted by You or Your distributors under this License\nprior to termination shall survive termination.\n\n************************************************************************\n*                                                                      *\n*  6. Miscellaneous\n----------------\n\nThis License represents the complete agreement concerning the subject\nmatter hereof. If any provision of this License is held to be\nunenforceable, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent\nnecessary to make it enforceable. Except as provided in Section\n10.3, no one other than the license steward has the right to modify or\npublish new versions of this License. Each version will be given a\ndistinguishing version number.\n\n10.2. Effect of New Versions\n\nYou may distribute the Covered Software under the terms of the version\nof the License under which You originally received the Covered Software,\nor under the terms of any subsequent version published by the license\nsteward.\n\n10.3. Modified Versions\n\nIf you create software not governed by this License, and you want to\ncreate a new license for such software, you may create and use a\nmodified version of this License if you rename the license and remove\nany references to the name of the license steward (except to note that\nsuch modified license differs from this License).\n\n10.4. Effect of New Versions\n\nYou may distribute the Covered Software under the terms of the version\nof the License under which You originally received the Covered Software,\nor under the terms of any subsequent version published by the license\nsteward.\n\n10.3. Modified Versions\n\nIf you create software not governed by this License, and you want to\ncreate a new license for such software, you may create and use a\nmodified version of this License if you rename the license and remove\nany references to the name of the license steward (except to note that\nsuch modified license differs from this License).\n\n10.4. Grants\n\nEach Contributor hereby grants You a world-wide, royalty-free,\nnon-exclusive license:\n\n(a) under intellectual property rights (other than patent or trademark)\n    Licensable by such Contributor to use, reproduce, make available,\n    modify, display, perform, distribute, and otherwise exploit its\n    Contributions, either on an unmodified basis, with Modifications, or\n    as part of a Larger Work; and\n\n(b) under Patent Claims of such Contributor to make, use, sell, offer\n    for sale, have made, import, and otherwise transfer either its\n    Contributions or its Contributor Version.\n\n2.2. Effective Date\n\nThe licenses granted in Section 2.1 with respect to any Contribution\nbecome effective for each Contribution on the date the Contributor first\ndistributes such Contribution.\n\n2.3. Limitations on Grant Scope\n\nThe licenses granted in this Section 2 are the only rights granted under\nthis License. No additional rights or licenses will be implied from the\ndistribution or licensing of Covered Software under this License.\nNotwithstanding Section 2.1(b) above, no patent license is granted by a\nContributor:\n\n(a) for any code that a Contributor has removed from Covered Software;\n    or\n\n(b) for infringements caused by: (i) Your and any other third party's\n    modifications of Covered Software, or (ii) the combination of its\n    Contributions with other software (except as part of its Contributor\n    Version); or\n\n(c) under Patent Claims infringed by Covered Software in the absence of\n    its Contributions.\n\nThis License does not grant any rights in the trademarks, service marks,\nor logos of any Contributor (except as may be necessary to comply with\nthe notice requirements in Section 3.4).\n\n2.4. Subsequent Licenses\n\nNo Contributor makes additional grants as a result of Your choice to\ndistribute the Covered Software under a subsequent version of this\nLicense (see Section 10.2) or under the terms of a Secondary License (if\npermitted under the terms of Section 3.3).\n\n2.5. Representation\n\nEach Contributor represents that the Contributor believes its\nContributions are its original creation(s) or it has sufficient rights\nto grant the rights to its Contributions conveyed by this License.\n\n2.6. Fair Use\n\nThis License is not intended to limit any rights You have under\napplicable copyright doctrines of fair use, fair dealing, or other\nequivalents.\n\n2.7. Conditions\n\nSections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4 are conditions of the licenses granted\nin Section 2.1.\n\n3. Responsibilities\n-------------------\n\n3.1. Distribution of Source Form\n\nAll distribution of Covered Software in Source Code Form, including any\nModifications that You create or to which You contribute, must be under\nthe terms of this License. You must inform recipients that the Source\nCode Form of the Covered Software is governed by the terms of this\nLicense, and how they can obtain a copy of this License. You may not\nattempt to alter or restrict the recipients' rights in the Source Code\nForm.\n\n3.2. Distribution of Executable Form\n\nIf You distribute Covered Software in Executable Form then:\n\n(a) such Covered Software must also be made available in Source Code\n    Form, as described in Section 3.1, and You must inform recipients of\n    the Executable Form how they can obtain a copy of such Source Code\n    Form by reasonable means in a timely manner, at a charge no more\n    than the cost of distribution to the recipient; and\n\n(b) You may distribute such Executable Form under the terms of this\n    License, or sublicense it under different terms, provided that the\n    license for the Executable Form does not attempt to limit or alter\n    the recipients' rights in the Source Code Form under this License.\n\n3.3. Distribution of a Larger Work\n\nYou may create and distribute a Larger Work under terms of Your choice,\nprovided that You also comply with the requirements of this License for\nthe Covered Software. If the Larger Work is a combination of Covered\nSoftware with a work governed by one or more Secondary Licenses, and the\nCovered Software is not Incompatible With Secondary Licenses, this\nLicense permits You to additionally distribute such Covered Software\nunder the terms of such Secondary License(s), so that the recipient of\nthe Larger Work may, at their option, further distribute the Covered\nSoftware under the terms of either this License or such Secondary\nLicense(s).\n\n3.4. Notices\n\nYou may not remove or alter the substance of any license notices\n(including copyright notices, patent notices, disclaimers of warranty,\nor limitations of liability) contained within the Source Code Form of\nthe Covered Software, except that You may alter any license notices to\nthe extent required to remedy known factual inaccuracies.\n\n3.5. Application of Additional Terms\n\nYou may choose to offer, and to charge a fee for, warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability obligations to one or more recipients of Covered\nSoftware. However, You may do so only on Your own behalf, and not on\nbehalf of any Contributor. You must make it absolutely clear that any\nsuch warranty, support, indemnity, or liability obligation is offered by\nYou alone, and You hereby agree to indemnify every Contributor for any\nliability incurred by such Contributor as a result of warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability terms You offer. You may include additional\ndisclaimers of warranty and limitations of liability specific to any\njurisdiction.\n\n4. Inability to Comply Due to Statute or Regulation\n---------------------------------------------------\n\nIf it is impossible for You to comply with any of the terms of this\nLicense with respect to some or all of the Covered Software due to\nstatute, judicial order, or regulation then You must: (a) comply with\nthe terms of this License to the maximum extent possible; and (b)\ndescribe the limitations and the code they affect. Such description must\nbe placed in a text file included with all distributions of the Covered\nSoftware under this License. Except to the extent prohibited by statute\nor regulation, such description must be sufficiently detailed for a\nrecipient of ordinary skill to be able to understand it.\n\n5. Termination\n--------------\n\n5.1. The rights granted under this License will terminate automatically\nif You fail to comply with any of its terms. However, if You become\ncompliant, then the rights granted under this License from a particular\nContributor are reinstated (a) provisionally, unless and until such\nContributor explicitly and finally terminates Your grants, and (b) on an\nongoing basis, if such Contributor fails to notify You of the\nnon-compliance by some reasonable means prior to 60 days after You have\ncome back into compliance. Moreover, Your grants from a particular\nContributor are reinstated on an ongoing basis if such Contributor\nnotifies You of the non-compliance by some reasonable means, this is the\nfirst time You have received notice of non-compliance with this License\nfrom such Contributor, and You become compliant prior to 30 days after\nYour receipt of the notice.\n\n5.2. If You initiate litigation against any entity by asserting a patent\ninfringement claim (excluding declaratory judgment actions,\ncounter-claims, and cross-claims) alleging that a Contributor Version\ndirectly or indirectly infringes any patent, then the rights granted to\nYou by any and all Contributors for the Covered Software under Section\n2.1 of this License shall terminate.\n\n5.3. In the event of termination under Sections 5.1 or 5.2 above, all\nend user license agreements (excluding distributors and resellers) which\nhave been validly granted by You or Your distributors under this License\nprior to termination shall survive termination.\n\n************************************************************************\n*                                                                      *\n*  6. Disclaimer of Warranty                                           *\n*  -------------------------                                           *\n*                                                                      *\n*  Covered Software is provided under this License on an \"as is\"       *\n*  basis, without warranty of any kind, either expressed, implied, or  *\n*  statutory, including, without limitation, warranties that the       *\n*  Covered Software is free of defects, merchantable, fit for a        *\n*  particular purpose or non-infringing. The entire risk as to the     *\n*  quality and performance of the Covered Software is with You.        *\n*  Should any Covered Software prove defective in any respect, You     *\n*  (not any Contributor) assume the cost of any necessary servicing,   *\n*  repair, or correction. No use of any Covered Software is   *\n*  authorized under this License except under this disclaimer.         *\n*                                                                      *\n************************************************************************\n\n************************************************************************\n*                                                                      *\n*  7. Miscellaneous\n----------------\n\nThis License represents the complete agreement concerning the subject\nmatter hereof. If any provision of this License is held to be\nunenforceable, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent\nnecessary to make it enforceable. Any law or regulation which provides\nthat the language of a contract shall be construed against the drafter\nshall not be used to construe this License against a Contributor.\n\n10. License Grants and Conditions\n--------------------------------\n\n2.1. Grants\n\nEach Contributor hereby grants You a world-wide, royalty-free,\nnon-exclusive license:\n\n(a) under intellectual property rights (other than patent or trademark)\n    Licensable by such Contributor to use, reproduce, make available,\n    modify, display, perform, distribute, and otherwise exploit its\n    Contributions, either on an unmodified basis, with Modifications, or\n    as part of a Larger Work; and\n\n(b) under Patent Claims of such Contributor to make, use, sell, offer\n    for sale, have made, import, and otherwise transfer either its\n    Contributions or its Contributor Version.\n\n2.2. Effective Date\n\nThe licenses granted in Section 2.1 with respect to any Contribution\nbecome effective for each Contribution on the date the Contributor first\ndistributes such Contribution.\n\n2.3. Limitations on Grant Scope\n\nThe licenses granted in this Section 2 are the only rights granted under\nthis License. No additional rights or licenses will be implied from the\ndistribution or licensing of Covered Software under this License.\nNotwithstanding Section 2.1(b) above, no patent license is granted by a\nContributor:\n\n(a) for any code that a Contributor has removed from Covered Software;\n    or\n\n(b) for infringements caused by: (i) Your and any other third party's\n    modifications of Covered Software, or (ii) the combination of its\n    Contributions with other software (except as part of its Contributor\n    Version); or\n\n(c) under Patent Claims infringed by Covered Software in the absence of\n    its Contributions.\n\nThis License does not grant any rights in the trademarks, service marks,\nor logos of any Contributor (except as may be necessary to comply with\nthe notice requirements in Section 3.4).\n\n2.4. Subsequent Licenses\n\nNo Contributor makes additional grants as a result of Your choice to\ndistribute the Covered Software under a subsequent version of this\nLicense (see Section 10.2) or under the terms of a Secondary License (if\npermitted under the terms of Section 3.3).\n\n2.5. Representation\n\nEach Contributor represents that the Contributor believes its\nContributions are its original creation(s) or it has sufficient rights\nto grant the rights to its Contributions conveyed by this License.\n\n2.6. Fair Use\n\nThis License is not intended to limit any rights You have under\napplicable copyright doctrines of fair use, fair dealing, or other\nequivalents.\n\n2.7. Conditions\n\nSections 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4 are conditions of the licenses granted\nin Section 2.1.\n\n3. Responsibilities\n-------------------\n\n3.1. Distribution of Source Form\n\nAll distribution of Covered Software in Source Code Form, including any\nModifications that You create or to which You contribute, must be under\nthe terms of this License. You must inform recipients that the Source\nCode Form of the Covered Software is governed by the terms of this\nLicense, and how they can obtain a copy of this License. You may not\nattempt to alter or restrict the recipients' rights in the Source Code\nForm.\n\n3.2. Distribution of Executable Form\n\nIf You distribute Covered Software in Executable Form then:\n\n(a) such Covered Software must also be made available in Source Code\n    Form, as described in Section 3.1, and You must inform recipients of\n    the Executable Form how they can obtain a copy of such Source Code\n    Form by reasonable means in a timely manner, at a charge no more\n    than the cost of distribution to the recipient; and\n\n(b) You may distribute such Executable Form under the terms of this\n    License, or sublicense it under different terms, provided that the\n    license for the Executable Form does not attempt to limit or alter\n    the recipients' rights in the Source Code Form under this License.\n\n3.3. Distribution of a Larger Work\n\nYou may create and distribute a Larger Work under terms of Your choice,\nprovided that You also comply with the requirements of this License for\nthe Covered Software. If the Larger Work is a combination of Covered\nSoftware with a work governed by one or more Secondary Licenses, and the\nCovered Software is not Incompatible With Secondary Licenses, this\nLicense permits You to additionally distribute such Covered Software\nunder the terms of such Secondary License(s), so that the recipient of\nthe Larger Work may, at their option, further distribute the Covered\nSoftware under the terms of either this License or such Secondary\nLicense(s).\n\n3.4. Notices\n\nYou may not remove or alter the substance of any license notices\n(including copyright notices, patent notices, disclaimers of warranty,\nor limitations of liability) contained within the Source Code Form of\nthe Covered Software, except that You may alter any license notices to\nthe extent required to remedy known factual inaccuracies.\n\n3.5. Application of Additional Terms\n\nYou may choose to offer, and to charge a fee for, warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability obligations to one or more recipients of Covered\nSoftware. However, You may do so only on Your own behalf, and not on\nbehalf of any Contributor. You must make it absolutely clear that any\nsuch warranty, support, indemnity, or liability obligation is offered by\nYou alone, and You hereby agree to indemnify every Contributor for any\nliability incurred by such Contributor as a result of warranty, support,\nindemnity or liability terms You offer. You may include additional\ndisclaimers of warranty and limitations of liability specific to any\njurisdiction.\n\n4. Inability to Comply Due to Statute or Regulation\n---------------------------------------------------\n\nIf it is impossible for You to comply with any of the terms of this\nLicense with respect to some or all of the Covered Software due to\nstatute, judicial order, or regulation then You must: (a) comply with\nthe terms of this License to the maximum extent possible; and (b)\ndescribe the limitations and the code they affect. Such description must\nbe placed in a text file included with all distributions of the Covered\nSoftware under this License. Except to the extent prohibited by statute\nor regulation, such description must be sufficiently detailed for a\nrecipient of ordinary skill to be able to understand it.\n\n5. Termination\n--------------\n\n5.1. The rights granted under this License will terminate automatically\nif You fail to comply with any of its terms. However, if You become\ncompliant, then the rights granted under this License from a particular\nContributor are reinstated (a) provisionally, unless and until such\nContributor explicitly and finally terminates Your grants, and (b) on an\nongoing basis, if such Contributor fails to notify You of the\nnon-compliance by some reasonable means prior to 60 days after You have\ncome back into compliance. Moreover, Your grants from a particular\nContributor are reinstated on an ongoing basis if such Contributor\nnotifies You of the non-compliance by some reasonable means, this is the\nfirst time You have received notice of non-compliance with this License\nfrom such Contributor, and You become compliant prior to 30 days after\nYour receipt of the notice.\n\n5.2. If You initiate litigation against any entity by asserting a patent\ninfringement claim (excluding declaratory judgment actions,\ncounter-claims, and cross-claims) alleging that a Contributor Version\ndirectly or indirectly infringes any patent, then the rights granted to\nYou by any and all Contributors for the Covered Software under Section\n2.1 of this License shall terminate.\n\n5.3. In the event of termination under Sections 5.1 or 5.2 above, all\nend user license agreements (excluding distributors and resellers) which\nhave been validly granted by You or Your distributors under this License\nprior to termination shall survive termination.\n\n************************************************************************\n*                                                                      *\n*  6. Disclaimer of Warranty                                           *\n*  -------------------------                                           *\n*                                                                      *\n*  Covered Software is provided under this License on an \"as is\"       *\n*  basis, without warranty of any kind, either expressed, implied, or  *\n*  statutory, including, without limitation, warranties that the       *\n*  Covered Software is free of defects, merchantable, fit for a        *\n*  particular purpose or non-infringing. Miscellaneous\n----------------\n\nThis License represents the complete agreement concerning the subject\nmatter hereof. If any provision of this License is held to be\nunenforceable, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent\nnecessary to make it enforceable. Any law or regulation which provides\nthat the language of a contract shall be construed against the drafter\nshall not be used to construe this License against a Contributor.\n\n10. Versions of the License\n---------------------------\n\n10.1. New Versions\n\nMozilla Foundation is the license steward. Except as provided in Section\n10.3, no one other than the license steward has the right to modify or\npublish new versions of this License. Each version will be given a\ndistinguishing version number.\n\n10.2. Effect of New Versions\n\nYou may distribute the Covered Software under the terms of the version\nof the License under which You originally received the Covered Software,\nor under the terms of any subsequent version published by the license\nsteward.\n\n10.3. Modified Versions\n\nIf you create software not governed by this License, and you want to\ncreate a new license for such software, you may create and use a\nmodified version of this License if you rename the license and remove\nany references to the name of the license steward (except to note that\nsuch modified license differs from this License).\n\n10.4. Distributing Source Code Form that is Incompatible With Secondary\nLicenses\n\nIf You choose to distribute Source Code Form that is Incompatible With\nSecondary Licenses under the terms of this version of the License, the\nnotice described in Exhibit B of this License must be attached.\n\nExhibit A - Source Code Form License Notice\n-------------------------------------------\n\n  This Source Code Form is subject to the terms of the Mozilla Public\n  License, v. 2.0. It comes with an out-of-the-box on-disk storage solution based on [level.js](https://leveljs.org/), but it also has an in-memory store available for debugging.\n\nThe library provides ways of constructing the trie incrementally (by inserting items into it) while keeping a low memory footprint. By default, only the topmost node is kept in memory, and children are only references to nodes stored on disk.\n\nThis package also allows producing succinct proofs for items, thus allowing the proof of membership, insertion, and deletion of items in the trie only from root hashes (and proofs!).\n\n## Installation\n\n```\nyarn add @aiken-lang/merkle-patricia-forestry\n```\n\n## Overview\n\n### Constructing\n\n#### `new Trie(store?: Store): Trie`\n\nYou can construct a new trie using `new Trie`, providing an (optional) store as a parameter. Using an on-disk store for non-trivial tries is strongly recommended, so only omit this argument for dummy scenarios.\n\n```js\nimport { Store, Trie } from '@aiken-lang/merkle-patricia-forestry';\n\n// Construct a new trie with on-disk storage under the file path 'db'.\nconst trie = new Trie(new Store('db'));\n```\n\n#### `Trie.fromList(items: Array<Item>, store?: Store): Promise<Trie>`\n\n> With `Item = { key: string|Buffer, value: string|Buffer }`\n\nUsing `Trie. fromList`, you can rapidly bootstrap a new trie from many items. This method is convenient for small tries and rapid prototyping. The store is optional and defaults to in-memory when omitted.\n\n```js\nconst trie = await Trie.fromList([\n  { key: 'apple', value: '🍎'},\n  { key: 'blueberry', value: '🫐'},\n  { key: 'cherries', value: '🍒'},\n  { key: 'grapes', value: '🍇'},\n  { key: 'tangerine', value: '🍊'},\n  { key: 'tomato', value: '🍅'},\n]);\n```\n\n#### `trie.insert(key: string|Buffer, value: string|Buffer) -> Promise<Trie>`\n\nWhile `Trie.fromList` provides a convenient way to create small tries, mainly for testing purposes, the primary way of constructing tries is by repeatedly calling `.insert` for each item to insert. It returns the same reference to the trie as a Promise for convenience.\n\nNote that you can only insert one item at a time, so make sure to `await` promises before attempting a new insert. Not doing so will trigger an exception. An exception is also raised when trying to insert an item at an already-known key. Delete first!\n\n```js\n// Insert items one-by-one\nawait trie.insert('apple', '🍎');\nawait trie.insert('blueberry', '🫐');\nawait trie.insert('cherries', '🍒');\nawait trie.insert('grapes', '🍇');\nawait trie.insert('tangerine', '🍊');\nawait trie.insert('tomato', '🍅');\n\n// Insert many items\nconst items = [\n  { key: 'apple', value: '🍎'},\n  { key: 'blueberry', value: '🫐'},\n  { key: 'cherries', value: '🍒'},\n  { key: 'grapes', value: '🍇'},\n  { key: 'tangerine', value: '🍊'},\n  { key: 'tomato', value: '🍅'},\n];\n\nawait items.reduce(async (trie, { key, value }) => {\n  return (await trie).insert(key, value);\n}, trie);\n```\n\n> [!TIP]\n>\n> Both the _key_ and _value_ must be either `string`s or byte `Buffer`. When a `string` is provided, it is treated as a UTF-8 byte `Buffer`.\n\n#### `trie.delete(key: string|Buffer) -> Promise<Trie>`\n\nSimilarly, the reverse operation `delete` is available to remove elements from the trie. It fails with an exception if the given key is not in the trie. For convenience, it returns the same reference to the trie as a Promise.\n\n```js\n// Remove 'apple'\nawait trie.delete('apple');\n\n// Throws an exception, apple is no longer in the trie.\nawait trie.delete('apple');\n```\n\n> [!TIP]\n>\n> The _key_ must be either `string`s or byte `Buffer`. When a `string` is provided, it is treated as a UTF-8 byte `Buffer`.\n\n#### `Trie.load(store: Store): Promise<Trie>`\n\nUsing `Trie. load`, you can load any previously constructed trie back from disk. In this case, the `store` argument must be provided.\n\n```js\nimport { Store, Trie } from '@aiken-lang/merkle-patricia-forestry';\n\n// Construct a new trie with on-disk storage under the file path 'db'.\nconst trie = await Trie.load(new Store('db'));\n```\n\n### Inspecting\n\nYou can inspect any trie using the [`util.inspect`](https://nodejs.org/api/util.html#utilinspectobject-options) from Node.js or simply by calling `console.log`:\n\n```js\nconsole.log(trie);\n// ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗\n// ║ #ee54d685370064b61cd8921f8476e54819990a67f6ebca402d1280ba1b03c75f ║\n// ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝\n//  ┌─ 0 #33af5a3bbf8f\n//  ├─ 1 #a38f7e65ebf6\n//  ├─ 3 #ac9d183ca637\n//  └─ 9 #75eba4e4dae1\n```\n\nThe output is a pretty-printed visualisation of the tree, with the entire root hash first in a box, followed by the rest of the trie. For each sub-trie, a summary of their hashes is shown using a pound sign (e.g. `#eceea58af726`) as well as the branch path and prefix, if any, that leads to that point.\n\nFor leaves, the remaining path (a.k.a suffix) is shown but truncated for brevity. The output also includes the key/value pertaining to that leaf.\n\nFinally, the function is synchronous and thus doesn't have access to children beyond\ntheir hashes. You can, however, fetch more children using:\n\n#### `trie.fetchChildren(depth?: number = 0): Promise<()>`\n\nThe `depth` parameter is optional and must be a positive integer when provided. It corresponds to the number of sub-levels to fetch.\n\n\n```js\nawait trie.fetchChildren(2);\n\nconsole.log(trie);\n// ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗\n// ║ #ee54d685370064b61cd8921f8476e54819990a67f6ebca402d1280ba1b03c75f ║\n// ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝\n//  ┌─ 09ad7..[55 digits]..19d9 #33af5a3bbf8f { apple → 🍎 }\n//  ├─ 1 #a38f7e65ebf6\n//  │  ├─ b021f..[54 digits]..2290 #e5f9beffc856 { tomato → 🍅 }\n//  │  └─ e7b4b..[54 digits]..0675 #b5e92076b81f { cherries → 🍒 }\n//  ├─ 39cd4..[55 digits]..9e65 #ac9d183ca637 { blueberry → 🫐 }\n//  └─ 9 #75eba4e4dae1\n//     ├─ 702e3..[54 digits]..3a28 #c8b244fad188 { grapes → 🍇 }\n//     └─ b19ae..[54 digits]..962c #830b96edc35b { tangerine → 🍊 }\n```\n\n> [!TIP]\n>\n> To retrieve the entire trie, use `Number.MAX_SAFE_INTEGER`. But be careful, for large tries may not fit in memory!\n\n#### `trie.save(): Promise<(Trie)>`\n\nTo replace children with references again, use `trie.save()`.\n\n```js\nawait trie.save();\n\nconsole.log(trie);\n// ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗\n// ║ #ee54d685370064b61cd8921f8476e54819990a67f6ebca402d1280ba1b03c75f ║\n// ╚═══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝\n//  ┌─ 0 #33af5a3bbf8f\n//  ├─ 1 #a38f7e65ebf6\n//  ├─ 3 #ac9d183ca637\n//  └─ 9 #75eba4e4dae1\n```\n\n> [!NOTE]\n>\n> There's, in principle, no need to _manually save_ the trie otherwise. Operations on the trie such as _insert_ or _remove_ automatically modify the store.\n\n### Accessing\n\n#### `trie.get(key: string|Buffer): Promise<Buffer|undefined>`\n\nYou can efficiently fetch any value from the trie from its key using the `trie.get` method.\n\n```js\nawait trie.get('cherries');\n// 🍒\n\nawait trie.get('cherrie');\n// undefined\n```\n\n#### `trie.childAt(path: string): Promise<Trie|undefined>`\n\nYou can retrieve any child from the trie at a given _path_. A _path_ is a sequence of hexadecimal digits (a.k.a nibbles) given by the hash digest (blake2b-256) of the key, encoded in base16.\n\n```js\nimport blake2b from 'blake2b';\n\n// Manually constructed, from a plain string prefix.\nconst cherries = await trie.childAt('1e');\n// 7b4b..[54 digits]..0675 #b5e92076b81f { cherries → 🍒 }\n\nconst none = await trie.childAt('ffff');\n// undefined\n\n// Using the hash digest\nconst apple = await trie.childAt(\n  blake2b(32).update(Buffer.from('apple')).digest('hex')\n);\n// 9ad7..[55 digits]..19d9 #33af5a3bbf8f { apple → 🍎 }\n```\n\n### Proving\n\n#### `trie.prove(key: string|Buffer, allowMissing?: bool): Promise<Proof>`\n\nLet's get to the exciting part! The whole point of building a Merkle Patricia Forestry is to provide succinct proofs for items. A proof is portable and bound to both:\n\n1. A specific item\n2. A specific trie\n\nProofs are only valid for a precise trie root hash and state. So inserting (resp. removing) any item into (resp. from) the trie will invalidate any previously generated proof.\n\n```js\nconst proofTangerine = await trie.prove('tangerine');\n// Proof {}\n```\n\nNote that it is possible to create partial proofs (or imply, proof of exclusion) for elements that are not in the trie. This is useful to prove non-membership: verifying the proof in exclusion would yield the current trie root.\n\n```js\n// 'melon' isn't in the Trie, but allowMissing is set `true`\nconst proofMelon = await trie.prove('melon', true);\n// Proof {}\n```\n\n#### `proof.verify(includingItem?: bool = true): Buffer`\n\nA proof can be _verified_ by calling `.verify` on it. The verification is fully synchronous and yields a hash as a byte `Buffer`. If that hash matches the trie root hash, the proof is valid.\n\n```js\nproofTangerine.verify().equals(trie.hash);\n// true\n```\n\nProofs can be computed in two manners. By default, they _include_ the item in the proof, thus checking for _inclusion_ in the trie. However, by setting `includingItem` to `false`, the proof will check for _exclusion_ and yield the root hash of the trie _without the item_.\n\n```js\nconst previousHash = trie.hash;\n\nawait trie.insert('banana', '🍌');\n\nconst proofBanana = await trie.prove('banana');\n\nproofBanana.verify(true).equals(trie.hash);\n// true\n\nproofBanana.verify(false).equals(previousHash);\n// true\n```\n\n> [!TIP]\n>\n> Hence, you insert an element in the trie from just a proof and a current root hash (without the item), yielding a new root hash that includes just the item.\n>\n> ```js\n> function insert(root, proof) {\n>   assert(proof.verify(false).equals(root));\n>   return proof.verify(true);\n> }\n> ```\n\n#### `proof.setValue(value)`\n\nOnce a proof has been generated for a given key/value element; it is possible to quickly change the value associated with that proof using `.setValue` so as the key -- and the rest of the trie; stay the same.\n\n#### `proof.toJSON(): object`\n\nProofs are opaque but can be serialised into various formats, such as JSON. The proof format is explained in greater detail in [the wiki](https://github.com/aiken-lang/merkle-patricia-forestry/wiki/Proof-format).\n\n```js\nproofTangerine.toJSON();\n// [\n//   {\n//     type: 'branch',\n//     skip: 0,\n//     neighbors: '17a27bc4ce61078d26372800d331d6b8c4b00255080be66977c78b1554aabf8985c09af929492a871e4fae32d9d5c36e352471cd659bcdb61de08f17\n// 22acc3b10eb923b0cbd24df54401d998531feead35a47a99f4deed205de4af81120f97610000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000\n// '\n//   },\n//   {\n//     type: 'leaf',\n//     skip: 0,\n//     neighbor: {\n//       key: '9702e39845bfd6e0d0a5b6cb4a3a1c25262528c11bcff857867a50a0670e3a28',\n//       value: 'b5898c51c32083e91b8c18c735d0ba74e08f964a20b1639c189d1e8704b78a09'\n//     }\n//   }\n// ]\n```\n\n#### `proof.fromJSON(key, value, steps): Proof`\n\nRe-construct a JavaScript Proof object from a serialized JSON value. This requires providing the original key/value pair.\n\n```js\nconst proofTangerine = Proof.fronJSON(\n  'tangerine',\n  '🍊',\n  [\n    {\n      type: 'branch',\n      skip: 0,\n      neighbors: '17a27bc4ce61078d26372800d331d6b8c4b00255080be66977c78b1554aabf8985c09af929492a871e4fae32d9d5c36e352471cd659bcdb61de08f17\n  22acc3b10eb923b0cbd24df54401d998531feead35a47a99f4deed205de4af81120f97610000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000\n  '\n    },\n    {\n      type: 'leaf',\n      skip: 0,\n      neighbor: {\n        key: '9702e39845bfd6e0d0a5b6cb4a3a1c25262528c11bcff857867a50a0670e3a28',\n        value: 'b5898c51c32083e91b8c18c735d0ba74e08f964a20b1639c189d1e8704b78a09'\n      }\n    }\n  ]\n);\n```\n\n\n#### `proof.toCBOR(): Buffer`\n\nJSON is cool, but proofs are ultimately meant to be passed on-chain as redeemer or datum. Thus, we provide a method `.toCBOR` to serialise a proof into a format compatible with the on-chain expectations.\n\n```js\nproofTangerine.toCBOR().toString('hex');\n// 9fd8799f005f58404be28f4839135e1f8f5372a90b54bb7bfaf997a5d13711bb4d7d93f9d4e04fbefa63eb4576001d8658219f928172eccb5448b4d7d62cd6d95228e13ebcbd53505840c1e96bcc431893eef34e03989814375d439faa592edf75c9e5dc10b3c30766700000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000ffffff\n```\n\n#### `proof.toAiken(): string`\n\nFor convenience, you can also generate Aiken code that works with the on-chain part of the library using `.toAiken`.\n\n```js\nproofTangerine.toAiken();\n```\n\n```aiken\n[\n  Branch {\n    skip: 0,\n    neighbors: #\"17a27bc4ce61078d26372800d331d6b8c4b00255080be66977c78b1554aabf8985c09af929492a871e4fae32d9d5c36e352471cd659bcdb61de08f1722acc3b10eb923b0cbd24df54401d998531feead35a47a99f4deed205de4af81120f97610000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000\",\n  },\n  Leaf {\n    skip: 0,\n    key: #\"9702e39845bfd6e0d0a5b6cb4a3a1c25262528c11bcff857867a50a0670e3a28\",\n    value: #\"b5898c51c32083e91b8c18c735d0ba74e08f964a20b1639c189d1e8704b78a09\",\n  },\n]\n```\n\n#### `proof.toUPLC(): String`\n\nFinally, one can also convert proofs in a textual UPLC format which as currently expected by some tools such as `aiken uplc eval`.\n\n```js\nproofTangerine.toAiken();\n```\n\n```uplc\n(con data\n  (List\n    [ Constr 0 [I 0, B #\"17a27bc4ce61078d26372800d331d6b8c4b00255080be66977c78b1554aabf8985c09af929492a871e4fae32d9d5c36e352471cd659bcdb61de08f1722acc3b10eb923b0cbd24df54401d998531feead35a47a99f4deed205de4af81120f97610000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000\"]\n    , Constr 2 [I 0, B #\"9702e39845bfd6e0d0a5b6cb4a3a1c25262528c11bcff857867a50a0670e3a28\", B #\"b5898c51c32083e91b8c18c735d0ba74e08f964a20b1639c189d1e8704b78a09\"]\n    ]\n  )\n)\n```\n","readmeFilename":"README.md"}
