@amplitude/developer-cli\n\nCLI and developer artifacts for the [Amplitude Developer API](https://developer-api.amplitude.com).\n\n`amp` manages Amplitude first-class platform primitives (projects, taxonomy, and\nfeature flags) via the Developer API. Related CLIs:\n\n- `ampli` — instrumentation and typed SDK codegen\n- `amplitude-wizard` — onboarding and setup\n\n## Design tenets\n\nThese guide every change to the CLI (see [AGENTS.md](./AGENTS.md) for the full\nversion):\n\n1. **Obvious by default.** The best surface needs no explanation — discoverable\n   help, consistent verbs, safe defaults, and errors that tell you what to do\n   next.\n2. **Code is marketing.** This source is public; it is organized for clarity,\n   with small single-purpose modules, familiar naming, and schema-validated\n   inputs.\n3. **Test the seams that matter.** Pure logic is unit tested and the\n   safety-critical paths (auth precedence, destructive-action confirmation,\n   credential permissions) are covered explicitly.\n4. **Two readers: humans and agents.** Interactive output maximizes visibility\n   and readability (tables, summaries); piped output is compact and lossless\n   (minimal characters) so agents don't pay tokens for decoration.\n\n## Install\n\n```bash\nnpm install -g @amplitude/developer-cli\namp help\n```\n\nOr run without installing:\n\n```bash\nnpx @amplitude/developer-cli help\n```\n\n## Authentication\n\nRun `amp auth login` to authenticate via the OAuth device flow. Omit\n`--profile` and the CLI targets `default` — the implicit profile used when you\ndon't name one. Picking a region stays explicit:\n\n```bash\namp auth login --region us                       # device flow → \"default\" profile\namp auth status                                  # active credential, type, expiry\namp context\n```\n\nProfiles bind a credential to a region (its `base_url`), so an EU token can\nnever be sent to prod. Name one explicitly when you want more than one:\n\n```bash\namp auth login --profile eu --region eu          # activates the EU profile\namp auth use prod                                 # switch back (no re-auth)\namp auth list                                     # * marks the active profile\namp logout --profile eu                           # remove one\namp logout --all                                   # remove every profile\n```\n\nA bare `amp auth login` re-authenticates the active profile in place.
