A lower-ceremony alternative to full Spec Kit.","maintainers":[{"name":"ashcoolman","email":"writetofish@gmail.com"}],"readme":"# mini-speckit\n\nA lightweight alternative to full speckit for trivially small, single-doc\ndeliverables.\n\n## What it is\n\n`mini-speckit` is a `specify -> plan -> tasks -> implement -> done` lifecycle\nthat operates on a single Markdown file per spec.\n\nIt reuses speckit's lifecycle vocabulary but avoids the heavier multi-file\nprocess for small work. `/mini-speckit-next` advances specs one rung at a time,\nincluding implementing tasks directly.\n\n## When it fits\n\n- a single-doc deliverable\n- a focused tweak or low-risk improvement\n- work where full speckit would be overkill\n\n## When it does not fit\n\n- multi-file contracts or public surface design\n- major cross-file design\n- env-var or install-path design\n- work that clearly needs full speckit structure\n\n## Install in a repo\n\nIf `mini-speckit` is available on your PATH:\n\n```bash\nmini-speckit install\n```\n\nThat will:\n\n- seed `NEXT.md` if missing\n- install Claude commands into `.claude/commands/`\n- install the shared mini-speckit skill into `.codex/skills/mini-speckit/`\n- install Gemini commands into `.gemini/commands/mini-speckit/`\n- install the shared mini-speckit skill into `.gemini/skills/mini-speckit/`\n- remove legacy `AGENTS.md` and `GEMINI.md` registration blocks from older installs\n\n## Usage\n\nClaude:\n\n- `/mini-speckit-specify <description>` creates a new spec\n- `/mini-speckit-next` advances an existing spec\n- `/spec-next-mini` remains as a compatibility alias\n\nCodex:\n\n- use the installed `mini-speckit` project skill\n\nGemini:\n\n- `/mini-speckit:specify <description>` creates a new spec\n- `/mini-speckit:next` advances an existing spec\n- the installed `mini-speckit` project skill can also route naturally\n\nSpecs live at:\n\n- `specs/<name>/work.md`\n\n## Uninstall from a repo\n\n```bash\nmini-speckit uninstall\n```\n\n## Installed surfaces\n\n- `.claude/commands/mini-speckit-specify.md`\n- `.claude/commands/mini-speckit-next.md`\n- `.claude/commands/spec-next-mini.md`\n- `.codex/skills/mini-speckit/SKILL.md`\n- `.gemini/commands/mini-speckit/specify.toml`\n- `.gemini/commands/mini-speckit/next.toml`\n- `.gemini/skills/mini-speckit/SKILL.md`\n- `template.md`\n","readmeFilename":"README.md"}
