private AI reasoning.**\r\n\r\nAxiom Core is the v1.0 execution layer of the Axiom system. It transforms sensitive local input into non-identifying semantic representations so cloud models can reason over structure without seeing raw data.\r\n\r\nThe SDK performs semantic transformation locally: removing identifying information while preserving the relational structure required for reasoning.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Table of Contents\r\n\r\n- [Installation](#installation)\r\n- 20.0.0\r\n- npm >= 9.0.0 (or Yarn/pnpm)\r\n\r\n### Install\r\n\r\n```bash\r\nnpm install @axiom-infra/core\r\n```\r\n\r\n```bash\r\nyarn add @axiom-infra/core\r\n```\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Usage\r\n\r\n### Basic Example\r\n\r\n```ts\r\nimport { Axiom } from \"@axiom-infra/core\";\r\n\r\nconst axiom = new Axiom({\r\n securityTier: \"standard\",\r\n enclave: \"none\",\r\n policyVersion: \"v1\",\r\n});\r\n\r\nconst result = await axiom.reason({\r\n context: localDocuments,\r\n task: \"analyze obligations and risks\",\r\n model: \"gpt-5\",\r\n});\r\n\r\n// Send only result.transformedContext to cloud\r\n```\r\n\r\n### Local Demo (from this repo)\r\n\r\n```bash\r\nnpm install\r\nnpm run demo\r\n```\r\n\r\nIf your shell blocks npm scripts, run:\r\n\r\n```bash\r\nnode --experimental-strip-types demo/demo.js\r\n```\r\n\r\n### Advanced Usage (Preview)\r\n\r\n```ts\r\nconst axiomPreview = new Axiom({\r\n securityTier: \"attested\",\r\n enclave: \"auto\",\r\n policyVersion: \"v1\",\r\n});\r\n```\r\n\r\nFor full integration details, see `docs/INTEGRATION.md`.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Guarantees (v1.0)\r\n\r\nWhen invoking `axiom.reason(...)` in the **standard** tier, the SDK provides:\r\n\r\n| Guarantee | Description |\r\n|-----------|-------------|\r\n| **No raw data transmission** | Raw input data is not transmitted by the SDK |\r\n| **Local transformation** | Semantic transformation occurs locally |\r\n| **Explicit network calls** | No implicit network calls are performed |\r\n| **Fail-fast boundaries** | Boundary violations fail explicitly |\r\n| **No identity mapping output** | The SDK does not expose a raw↔synthetic mapping |\r\n\r\nThese guarantees apply only to SDK-controlled execution paths.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Features\r\n\r\n- Local semantic abstraction pipeline\r\n- Entity and role modeling\r\n- Deterministic canonicalization and hashing\r\n- Explicit boundary enforcement and fail-fast errors\r\n- Zero data retention by default (SDK-controlled paths)\r\n- Optional attestation evidence in the attested preview tier\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## What This SDK Is\r\n\r\nAxiom Core is **infrastructure**, not an application.\r\n\r\nIt is designed to be embedded into systems where:\r\n\r\n- Private data should not be transmitted to the cloud\r\n- Frontier models are still required for reasoning\r\n- Trust boundaries and auditability matter\r\n\r\nAt a high level, the SDK:\r\n\r\n- Executes semantic analysis on local input\r\n- Transforms raw data into non-identifying representations\r\n- Preserves entities, roles, and relationships\r\n- Enforces a strict boundary between local context and cloud models\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## What This SDK Is Not\r\n\r\nTo avoid ambiguity, Axiom Core is explicitly **not**:\r\n\r\n- A hosted service or proxy\r\n- A redaction or PII-masking tool\r\n- A compliance product or legal authority\r\n- A cryptographic encryption system\r\n- A local language model or inference engine\r\n- A cloud routing or billing layer\r\n\r\nThese concerns are intentionally outside the scope of this repository.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## High-Level Architecture\r\n\r\nThe Axiom system enforces a hard trust boundary.\r\n\r\n```\r\n┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐\r\n│ Local Environment (This SDK) │\r\n│ │\r\n│ • Semantic analysis and transformation │\r\n│ • Entity and relationship abstraction │\r\n│ • Context filtering and minimization │\r\n└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘\r\n │\r\n ▼ Transformed context only\r\n┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐\r\n│ Cloud Boundary │\r\n│ │\r\n│ • Receives non-identifying context only │\r\n│ • Performs reasoning using external models │\r\n│ • Never receives raw private data │\r\n└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘\r\n```\r\n\r\nThis repository operates entirely on the **local side** of that boundary.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Security Model (v1.0)\r\n\r\n### Hard Guarantees\r\n\r\nWithin its execution scope, the SDK enforces:\r\n\r\n- ✓ No raw text serialization\r\n- ✓ No implicit network access\r\n- ✓ Explicit local-to-cloud boundary enforcement\r\n- ✓ Zero data retention by default\r\n\r\nAll guarantees apply only to SDK-controlled execution paths.\r\n\r\n### Trust Assumptions\r\n\r\nThe SDK assumes:\r\n\r\n- The host operating system is honest-but-curious\r\n- The runtime environment is not actively malicious\r\n\r\nThe SDK is **not** designed to be safe under fully compromised host conditions.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Experimental: Enclave Execution (Preview)\r\n\r\nThe attested tier uses an enclave runner (private `@axiom-infra/enclave-runner`). It is **not** part of the core v1.0 guarantee set and is **not required** to run the SDK.\r\n\r\nNotes:\r\n- `enclave: \"auto\"` falls back to a simulator when the native runner is unavailable.\r\n- `enclave: \"required\"` fails if the native runner is unavailable.\r\n- Simulator mode provides **no security guarantees** and is for development only.\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Repository Structure\r\n\r\n```\r\naxiom-core/\r\n├── src/ # Core SDK implementation (v1.0)\r\n├── demo/ # Demo script\r\n├── artifacts/ # Example evidence/verdicts\r\n├── docs/ # Design notes and specifications\r\n├── tests/ # Unit and boundary tests\r\n├── STATUS.md # Consolidated project status\r\n├── README.md\r\n├── docs/architecture.md\r\n├── docs/security.md\r\n├── docs/roadmap.md\r\n└── LICENSE\r\n```\r\n\r\n---\r\n\r\n## Contributing\r\n\r\nThis project maintains high standards for correctness and clarity.
