Install from the exact `v0.7.2` tag or published npm\nversion rather than a moving branch.\n\nVersion 0.7.2 rejects failed Git status reads before review or delivery evidence can claim\na clean worktree. Automatic project profiling reads only inventory-bound ordinary text\nand records skipped or invalid inputs explicitly. It also refreshes selectively reviewed\nupstream references without changing schemas, dependencies, or supported workflows.\n\nVersion 0.7.1 strengthens current `review-craft.run.v5` with content-bound source-span\nanchors, Git-base binding for deleted source, and a coverage denominator sealed one-to-one\nagainst the canonical inventory. It also adds evidence-backed simplification guidance,\nsource-bound reference-upstream governance, automatic Review Craft routing, and maintained\nNode 24 CI dependencies without changing the bounded, provider-free product boundary.\n\n## Product boundary\n\n- `skills/review-craft/` is the only installable product.\n- The same inline Skill contract is designed for Codex CLI, Claude Code, Pi, and Grok. It does\n  not require subagents, agent teams, forked context, or a host-private orchestration API.\n- A bounded, read-only review is the default path.\n- The bundled Python runtime is optional. Use it only for an explicitly requested canonical\n  review, deterministic artifact validation, authorized fix verification, or delivery\n  attestation.\n- Review Craft never edits a target repository. An authorized implementation uses the host's\n  normal editing tools; the runtime only prepares and validates external evidence.\n- Quick PRs and small diffs belong to the host's native review workflow. Visual design and\n  deep security work belong to dedicated workflows.\n- Review Craft does not claim that one model, host, prompt, or Skill is universally superior.\n\n## Workflows\n\n### Bounded review\n\nUse the bounded path for one small, completely readable scope that needs one evidence-backed\nfinding or decision. It does not create canonical artifacts or a numeric score and does not\nrun `doctor` or `preflight` by default.\n\nIf the scope stops being bounded, narrow it or report the evidence gap. Do not automatically\nupgrade the request to the canonical workflow.\n\nValid outcomes include `KEEP`, `CLEAN_UP`, `DEFER`, `MEASURE`, and `DOCUMENT`. A no-finding\nresult still needs evidence explaining why the inspected behavior is appropriate.\n\n### Canonical review\n\nUse the optional canonical workflow only when the user explicitly requests repository-wide\ncoverage, a `diff` or `focus` artifact, a deterministic score, or high-assurance evidence.\nIt provides:\n\n- a Project Quality Model grounded in actual goals and non-goals;\n- deterministic per-file coverage accounting;\n- a candidate ledger separate from validated findings;\n- independent severity and remediation priority;\n- evidence-gated scoring and deterministic report generation;\n- migration, compatibility, rollback, and verification gates for destructive decisions;\n- immutable fix attempts and portable delivery attestations.\n\nCanonical assurance levels remain:\n\n- `fast`: budgeted, provisional, and capped at E2;\n- `standard`: complete configured scope, validated candidates, and deterministic artifacts;\n- `assured`: E3+ evidence plus independent registered verification for every finding.\n\n### Remediation and delivery\n\nReview findings do not authorize edits. CI revalidates the same package bytes\non Ubuntu, Windows, and macOS.\n\n## Host compatibility acceptance\n\nStatic contracts prove package layout and standard metadata, not actual host invocation.\nBefore publishing an unqualified compatibility claim for a release candidate:\n\n1. extract the exact same candidate package for all hosts;\n2. explicitly invoke Review Craft once in Codex, Claude Code, Pi, and Grok;\n3. restrict each run to read/search tools and one bounded fixture;\n4. require one evidence-backed disposition and an unchanged target hash/Git state;\n5. record host version, package SHA-256, date, and `PASS` or `UNVERIFIED` outside Git.\n\nDo not compare models, repeat a matrix, or turn a timeout into a new adapter platform. Larger scheduled tiers are telemetry,\nnot cross-runner proof of a regression.\n\n## License and provenance\n\nReview Craft is MIT licensed. Its engineering-review design was informed by the public\nApache-2.0 project identified in `THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md`. Its simplification-proof\nguidance selectively adapts concepts from the MIT-licensed upstreams pinned there. Review\nCraft does not vendor those upstream repositories; repository-governance metadata records\nthe reviewed revision, source-path Git blobs, and deliberately excluded surfaces. A\n`tracked` source records non-normative watch surfaces and makes no absorption or quality\nclaim; `selective_absorbed` records only the surfaces actually adapted into Review Craft.\nEach entry covers only its listed source paths, not a complete upstream-repository audit.\nWhen an upstream branch advances, `contracts/upstreams.json` records the latest reviewed\nrevision and blobs; `THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md` separately preserves the original adaptation\nreview where it differs.\nSource-checkout validation checks that lock offline.
