First, it emits the observed speech data\r\nand related events to a [Windows named\r\npipe](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/ipc/named-pipes). This\r\nallows the second component to present a robust public interface for\r\nprogrammatic consumption of the data. (The named pipe is an implementation\r\ndetail. Neither its content nor its presence is guaranteed, making it\r\ninappropriate for external use.)\r\n\r\nSecond, the voice annunciates speech data. It does this by forwarding speech\r\ndata to the system's default text-to-speech voice. This ensures that a system\r\nconfigured to use the voice remains accessible to screen reader users.\r\n\r\n### WebSocket server\r\n\r\nThe WebSocket server is written in Node.js and allows an arbitrary number of\r\nclients to observe events on a standard interface.
