Forked from https://github.com/sleepycat/rapid-automated-keyword-extraction","keywords":["keyword","extraction","rake"],"author":{"name":"Boyan Kirov"},"license":"MIT","readme":"# RAKE: Rapid automatic keyword extraction\n\nThe goal of this library was to create a well tested Javascript translation of the\n[python implementation](https://github.com/zelandiya/RAKE-tutorial).\n\nDifferences in regular expressions and stopword lists have big impacts on this algorithm and\nsticking close to the python means that the code was easy to compare to ensure\nthat it was in the ballpark.\n\nThis algorithm is described in [Text Mining: Applications and\nTheory](https://www.amazon.ca/Text-Mining-Applications-Michael-Berry/dp/0470749822)\nand also in this [excellent blog\npost](https://www.airpair.com/nlp/keyword-extraction-tutorial) by Alyona\nMedelyan.\n\nIt operates using only the text you give it and produces surprisingly good\nresults. There are likely [better results\npossible](http://bdewilde.github.io/blog/2014/09/23/intro-to-automatic-keyphrase-extraction/)\nbut these mostly seem to involve a combination of Python, Machine Learning and\na corpus of data.\n\nThe appeal of RAKE is of the \"bang for the buck\" variety.\n\nCurrently this library produces subtly different results than either the paper\nor the original Python implementation.
