It counts the words (tokens) in your prompts and calculates exactly how much money it will cost you in real-time.\n\n## Why use this?\nWhen you are building with OpenAI, Anthropic, or other LLMs, costs can spiral out of control if you leave a script running. This tool gives you instant visibility into your API spending.\n\n## How to use\n1. Install from npm (global CLI):\n   ```bash\n   npm install -g ai-cost-tracker\n   ```\n2. Run the tracker:\n   ```bash\n   ai-cost-tracker\n   ```\n3. Or run without installing:\n   ```bash\n   npx ai-cost-tracker\n   ```\n4. Python version is still available:\n   ```bash\n   python3 ai_cost_tracker.py\n   ```\n5. Type any prompt text and press Enter to see:\n   - Estimated tokens\n   - Estimated prompt cost\n   - Running session total\n6.
