Run `/last-word` at the end of every session to archive what you learned, capture remaining work, and generate a starter prompt for next time.\n\n## What it does\n\nSeven stages, in order:\n\n1. **Review** — Scans the conversation history for stuck points, what worked, and gaps in CLAUDE.md\n2. **Categorize & Archive** — Files every piece of knowledge into the right place (CLAUDE.md, tasks/prd-*.md, or memory/)\n3. **Capture remaining work** — Creates or updates memory files for unfinished features\n4. **Clean up stale memory** — Deletes memory files for completed features, merges duplicates\n5. **Check uncommitted changes** — Flags any dirty git repos before you clear the session\n6. **Generate starter prompt** — Produces a ready-to-paste prompt for the next session\n7. **Confirm safe to clear** — Gives a final status summary\n\n## Project layout (assumed)\n\n```\n<workspace>/\n├── CLAUDE.md         ← Cross-cutting rules that apply every session\n├── tasks/            ← Feature design docs (prd-<feature>.md)\n├── memory/           ← Transient \"where we left off\" state (one file per active feature)\n└── <codebase>/       ← Main codebase (git repo)\n```\n\nKnowledge classification rule:\n- Applies to every feature → `CLAUDE.md`\n- Specific to one feature (math, design decisions, gotchas) → `tasks/prd-<feature>.md`\n- Transient progress state → `memory/<feature>.md`\n\n## Scripts\n\n| Script | Purpose |\n|--------|---------|\n| `scripts/detect_workspace.sh` | Finds the workspace root (directory containing `CLAUDE.md`) |\n| `scripts/scan_memory.py` | Prints a status summary of all in-progress memory files |\n| `scripts/generate_starter.py` | Reads memory files and generates a next-session starter prompt |\n| `scripts/check_git.sh` | Scans all git repos in the workspace for uncommitted changes |\n\n## Installation\n\nInstall via the [Claude Code skills system](https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code).
