Runs on Windows (VS Code) and supports a live loop mode that checks every 60 seconds.\r\n\r\n## Prerequisites\r\n\r\n- Node.js 18+\r\n- Environment variables: `OPENROUTER_API_KEY`, `SLACK_USER_TOKEN`, `GITHUB_TOKEN`\r\n\r\n## Setup (Windows PowerShell)\r\n\r\n### 1. Install dependencies\r\n\r\n```powershell\r\ncd cic_checkin_agent\r\nnpm install\r\n```\r\n\r\n### 2. Set environment variables\r\n\r\n```powershell\r\n$env:OPENROUTER_API_KEY = \"your-openrouter-key\"\r\n$env:SLACK_USER_TOKEN = \"your-slack-user-oauth-token\"\r\n$env:GITHUB_TOKEN = \"your-github-personal-access-token\"\r\n```\r\n\r\n`SLACK_USER_TOKEN` posts as you; if it's channel-scoped, no channel ID is needed. Otherwise, set the channel via `checkin_agent set --channel C01234567` after init.\r\n\r\nTo make env vars persistent (current user), add to your PowerShell profile or use System Environment Variables.\r\n\r\n### 3. Initialize the agent\r\n\r\n```powershell\r\nnode index.js init\r\nnode index.js init --github ClergeF\r\n```\r\n\r\nOptionally set your GitHub handle during init. This creates `%USERPROFILE%\\.cic_checkin_agent\\` with:\r\n- `config.json` (schedule, model, github_handle, repos, scan settings)\r\n- `state.json` (daily check-in slot state)\r\n\r\n### 4. Set GitHub handle and add repos\r\n\r\n```powershell\r\n# Set GitHub handle (if not done during init)\r\nnode index.js set --github ClergeF\r\n\r\n# Interactive: fetch your repos and pick which to add\r\nnode index.js select-repos\r\n\r\n# Or add manually by owner/repo\r\nnode index.js add-repo ClergeF/my-project\r\n```\r\n\r\n### 5. Test one-shot auto\r\n\r\n```powershell\r\nnode index.js auto\r\n```\r\n\r\nChecks if it's time to post. If not eligible, prints next scheduled time.\r\n\r\n### 6. Start the loop (live agent)\r\n\r\n```powershell\r\nnode index.js auto --loop\r\n```\r\n\r\nRuns continuously, checking every 60 seconds. At most one post per slot per day.\r\n\r\n## GitHub token\r\n\r\nCreate a Personal Access Token at GitHub Settings > Developer settings > Personal access tokens. Use classic or fine-grained; for private repos, enable `repo` scope (classic) or `contents: read` (fine-grained).\r\n\r\n## Data directory\r\n\r\nAll files live in `%USERPROFILE%\\.cic_checkin_agent\\`:\r\n- `config.json` - Settings, schedule, repos\r\n- `state.json` - Today's slots, last post time\r\n- `history.jsonl` - Debug log of posted messages\r\n- `error.log` - Errors\r\n","readmeFilename":"README.md","_rev":"1-e914cb2c0d6f33887e70d6f960b8ca0f"}
