Pair with\n> [`zagents`](https://www.npmjs.com/package/zagents) for the CLI.\n\n## What this is\n\nThe **library** half of the dual-package model. If you want to **run** the\ngenerator, use `zagents`. If you want to **import** it from your own code,\nuse this package.\n\n```bash\n# Run it (CLI)\nnpx zagents my-bot --template vertical:coding\n\n# Import it (library)\nnpm install @cvsz/zagents-generator\n```\n\n```ts\nimport {\n  scaffold,\n  validateHarnessName,\n  HOSTS,\n  TEMPLATES,\n} from '@cvsz/zagents-generator';\n\n// Generate a gemini programmatically:\nconst result = await scaffold({\n  name: 'my-bot',\n  template: 'vertical:coding',\n  host: 'claude-code',\n  targetDir: '/tmp/my-bot',\n  force: true,\n  generatorVersion: '0.1.0',\n});\nconsole.log(`wrote ${result.files.length} files`);\n```\n\n## What's exported\n\n| Group | Exports |\n|---|---|\n| **Scaffold pipeline** | `scaffold`, `parseArgs`, `main`, `detectRufloProject`, `templateDir` |\n| **Catalog surface** | `HOSTS`, `TEMPLATES`, `loadCatalog`, `formatCatalog` |\n| **Rendering** | `render`, `extractVarReferences`, `validateHarnessName`, `walkTemplate`, `asFileMap`, `writeAtomic` |\n| **Manifest / fingerprinting** | `emptyManifest`, `sha256`, `fingerprintFiles`, `diffFingerprints` |\n| **Types** | `Host`, `TemplateId`, `CatalogEntry`, `CliArgs`, `ScaffoldOptions`, `ScaffoldResult`, `TemplateVars` |\n\nThe full per-subcommand surface (validate / sbom / audit / score / genome /\nthreat-model / …) lives in `zagents`. We re-export the *generation*\nprimitives here; per-subcommand commands stay CLI-only because they assume\nthe gemini has already been written to disk and is being inspected.\n\n## How the dual-package model works\n\n```\n  ┌─────────────────────────────────┐\n  │ zagents                       │   ← the published CLI\n  │  • bin: zagents, gemini      │     `npx zagents`\n  │  • full implementation          │     `npx zagents score ./my-bot`\n  │  • full JS API                  │\n  └────────────┬────────────────────┘\n               │ depends on\n  ┌────────────┴────────────────────┐\n  │ @cvsz/zagents-generator │   ← this package: thin re-export\n  │  • no bin                       │     `import { scaffold } from …`\n  │  • re-exports the library API   │\n  └─────────────────────────────────┘\n```\n\nOne source of truth. Two published names. The wrapper has no\nimplementation — if logic ever leaks into this package, it's a bug.\n\n## When to use which\n\n- **`zagents`** — you want the command-line tool, full subcommand\n  surface, marketplace plugin, Codex skills.\n- **`@cvsz/zagents-generator`** — you're embedding the generator\n  in a build script, a web service, or another tool, and don't want the\n  `bin` baggage.\n\n## Version pinning\n\nThis package always depends on the same minor version of `zagents`. A\npatch release of `zagents` doesn't bump us automatically — we cut a\nmatching patch and re-publish so the dependency stays tight.\n\n## License\n\nMIT — see [LICENSE](LICENSE).\n","readmeFilename":"README.md"}
