Exporter for Node.js\n[![Gitter chat][gitter-image]][gitter-url]\n\nOpenCensus Agent Exporter allows the user to send collected traces with OpenCensus Node.js to the OpenCensus Agent or Collector.\n\nThis project is still at an early stage of development, it's subject to change.\n\n## Installation\n\nInstall OpenCensus Agent Exporter with:\n```bash\nnpm install @opencensus/nodejs\nnpm install @opencensus/exporter-ocagent\n```\n\n## Usage\n\nInstance the exporter on your application. For javascript:\n\n```javascript\nconst tracing = require('@opencensus/nodejs');\nconst ocagent = require('@opencensus/exporter-ocagent');\n\nconst exporter = new ocagent.OCAgentExporter({\n  // ... configuration options ...\n});\n\ntracing.registerExporter(exporter).start();\n```\n\nSimilarly for Typescript:\n\n```typescript\nimport * as tracing from '@opencensus/nodejs';\nimport { OCAgentExporter } from '@opencensus/exporter-ocagent';\n\nconst exporter = new OCAgentExporter({\n  // ... configuration options ...\n});\n```\n\nNow, register the exporter and start tracing.\n\n```javascript\ntracing.start({exporter: exporter});\n```\n\nor\n\n```javascript\ntracing.registerExporter(exporter).start();\n```\n\n## Configuration Options\n\nThe following options are available through the construtor options.\n\nOption          | Type                    | Description\n----------------|-------------------------|-\n`serviceName`   | string                  | Name of the service. Defaults to `Anonymous Service`.\n`host`          | string                  | Host or ip of the agent. Defaults to `localhost`.\n`port`          | number                  | Port of the agent. Defaults to `55678`.\n`credentials`   | grpc.ChannelCredentials | Credentials to use for grpc connection to agent.
