We use ES2016. Instantiate a global variable for Browser.\n\n```\nvar Amaze = require('@dequelabs/amaze-tdd');\nvar Browser;\nvar $;\n```\n\nInstantiate the browser object in the `suiteSetup` function. You should look at another test to see an example.\n\n```\nBrowser = Amaze.Client.build();\n```\n\nOptionally, you may instantiate a `$` variable for a more familiar jQuery interface.\n\n```\n$ = Amaze.jQuery;\n```\n\nIf you do this, you can then target web objects like you would a jQuery object, like...\n\n```\n$(Object).find('something')...\n```\n\n...instead of...\n\n```\nAmaze.jQuery(Object).find('something')...\n```\n\nIt's not much, but it's something :-)\n\nTests should be written asynchronously due to Selenium's asynchronous nature. We should return something or use an expectation/assertion which returns a promise. An example test has been included for reference. We have also created [further documentation on writing tests](docs/index.md) to help you write good tests.\n\n## Running tests\n\nRun tests with:\n\n`node node_modules/@dequelabs/amaze-tdd`\n\nYou may pass in additional flags, such as `sanity-check` to include the demo test. This may help with sanity checks if you're getting a bunch of test failures:\n\n`node node_modules/@dequelabs/amaze-tdd sanity-check`\n\nAdditionally, you may use PhantomJS to headlessly test the interfaces. No browser plugin is required and no browsers will spawn, which may speed up tests. Add the `headless` option:\n\n`node node_modules/@dequelabs/amaze-tdd headless`\n\n## Test files\n\nOur process will run Mocha on any files in the specified path with the format `*-spec.js`. This means that the following examples will work:\n\n* `test-spec.js`\n* `overlay-name-spec.js`\n* `camelCase-spec.js`\n* `ALLCAPS-spec.js`\n* `some-folder/test-spec.js`\n* `some-folder/nested-folder/test-spec.js`\n\nBasically any file that ends with `-spec.js` will be covered in testing.\n\n## Deliverables\n\nAlong with the standard compiled `.js` file, you may also deliver the `specs` folder. When you run your tests, they're copied into this folder for easy delivery. The only thing your customer will need to do is install this NPM suite.\n\n## Contributing\n\nWe want you! To help us make this great. See our [wiki on contributing](https://bitbucket.org/dmusser/amaze-tdd/wiki/Home) for more information.\n\n## Changelog\n\n### 0.3.1\n* Updated the library for NPM 5 module locations + backwards compatibility\n\n### 0.3.0\n* Updated NPM package module locations to use the @dequelabs scope\n\n### 0.2.9\n* Removed bundled drivers as they can be found elsewhere and makes this package about 40MB smaller\n* Updated the check for local configuration files\n* Added documentation for a familiar jQuery experience\n* Renamed a folder to better suit its contents\n* Added functionality that packages all specs for delivery\n* Silenced the logging when using a headless browser (e.g. PhantomJS)\n* Added process logging for transparency with colors!\n\n### 0.2.8\n* Changed the way the script checks for local configuration files\n\n### 0.2.7\n* Updated the demo spec test to be more of a sanity check\n* Removed `dev` option; changed `prod` to `phantomjs` for PhantomJS tests\n* Will only include the demo spec as a sanity check if `sanity-check` option is present\n* Tests will use your projects `.amazerc` file rather than the one included in this package\n* Slight tweaks to this readme file, typo fixes, and added link to documentation\n* Documentation updates; copying stuff over to the Wiki\n* Moved from Google ESlint rules to a custom set based on standard rules\n\n### 0.2.6\n* Removing the necessity to use a global install and removing the `bin` for the command\n* Instead, relying on the package.json `script` so we need only a single install of the files\n* Added support for an `.amazerc` configuration file for individual project settings\n* Removed Firefox (geckodriver) and IE (iedriver) from global object\n* Using Chrome as default and PhantomJS for `phantomjs` option\n* Refactored some files to use ES2016, more on the way\n* Included an ESlint config file and devDependencies\n* Increased global timeout to 30s allowing removal of individual overrides\n\n### 0.2.5\n* Tweaking the global object\n\n### 0.1.1\n* Moved the demo test Browser instance into a suiteSetup to fix the empty browser that spawns during tests\n* Fixed typo of this section heading :-)\n\n### 0.1.0\n* Removed unused Chai.should() library\n* Added documentation\n* Various cleanup and consolidations\n\n### 0.0.15\n* Added a jQuery wrapper to make working with Selenium easier\n\n### 0.0.14\n* Making Chrome plugin path work regardless of project\n* Moving browser builder to individual tests. This is necessary so the browser can re-instantiate itself between tests.\n\n### 0.0.13\n* Package bin path update\n\n### 0.0.12\n* Directory structure updates; needed an index.js for easier module loading\n\n### 0.0.11\n* Removed selenium/mocha wrapper to reduce dependencies\n* Moved to a promise-based test setup\n* Switched from BDD to TDD for clarity\n* Preferring local install to global; was previously global\n* Added changelog :-)\n\n### 0.0.1 - 0.0.10\n* Regretting not starting a changelog sooner\n* Basically gets stuff setup and working through bugs\n","maintainers":[{"email":"labs@deque.com","name":"dqlabs"},{"email":"tony@kornmeier.me","name":"akornmeier"},{"email":"b7f8a630@opayq.com","name":"clrux"},{"email":"iandotkelly@gmail.com","name":"iandotkelly"}],"time":{"modified":"2022-06-12T17:01:08.359Z","created":"2016-12-06T18:10:28.275Z","0.2.9":"2016-12-06T18:10:28.275Z","0.3.0":"2016-12-06T18:41:56.870Z","0.3.1":"2017-08-04T19:39:05.442Z","0.3.2":"2017-08-04T20:40:38.420Z"},"author":{"name":"Chris Rodriguez","email":"chris.rodriguez@deque.com"},"license":"UNLICENSED","readmeFilename":"README.md","contributors":[{"name":"Tony Kornmeier","email":"tony.kornmeier@deque.com"}]}
