(If using conda, this can be done via `conda install nodejs`.)\n\n```bash\npip install ipycollections\njupyter lab build\n```\n## Usage\n\nIn a JupyterLab notebook, use the following line to enable the extension\n\n```\n%load_ext ipycollections\n``` \n\nIf you would like the extension to be enabled by default, edit your \n[configuration file](https://ipython.readthedocs.io/en/stable/development/config.html) \n(often `~/.ipython/profile_default/ipython_config.py`) to include `ipycollections` as an extension:\n\n```\nc.InteractiveShellApp.extensions = [\n    'ipycollections',\n    # ...\n]\n```\n\nIf you wish to disable the extension, use:\n\n```\n%unload_ext ipycollecitons\n```\n\n## Troubleshooting\n\nIf you are not seeing the frontend, check the frontend is installed:\n\n```bash\njupyter labextension list\n```\n\nIf it is installed, try:\n\n```bash\njupyter lab clean\njupyter lab build\n```\n\n## Contributing\n\n### Install\n\nThe `jlpm` command is JupyterLab's pinned version of\n[yarn](https://yarnpkg.com/) that is installed with JupyterLab. You may use\n`yarn` or `npm` in lieu of `jlpm` below.\n\n```bash\n# Clone the repo to your local environment\n# Move to ipycollections directory\n\n# Install the python package\npip install -e .\n\n# Install dependencies\njlpm\n# Build Typescript source\njlpm build\n# Link your development version of the extension with JupyterLab\njupyter labextension install .\n# Rebuild Typescript source after making changes\njlpm build\n# Rebuild JupyterLab after making any changes\njupyter lab build\n```\n\nYou can watch the source directory and run JupyterLab in watch mode to watch for changes in the extension's source and automatically rebuild the extension and application.\n\n```bash\n# Watch the source directory in another terminal tab\njlpm watch\n# Run jupyterlab in watch mode in one terminal tab\njupyter lab --watch\n```\n\nNow every change will be built locally and bundled into JupyterLab.
