The retrieval procedure of the original bridge\nis very dumb and really on periodically nightscout/share2nightscout-bridgered requests without considering the known 5 minutes gaps between data points.\n\nThis bridge uses the [DiaKEM/dexcom-api-client](https://github.com/DiaKEM/dexcom-api-client) which exactly implement this special strategy to\nonly ask for new data if it is expected and this will be done in a very aggresive way.\n\nThat's all to my general motivation to start writing this bridge application.\n\n**But**\n\nI just realized that [Chris Pitchford](https://github.com/cpitchford) just implemented this for\nnightscout in this [PR](https://github.com/nightscout/cgm-remote-monitor/pull/7231).\n\n## Installation\n\n```\n$ git clone git@github.com:DiaKEM/dexcom-follower-to-nightscout-bridge.git\n$ npm install\n$ npm run build\n```\n\n## Configuration\n\nThe bridge needs the following information:\n\n* Dexcom follower username\n* Dexcom follower password\n* Nightscout instance url\n* Nightscout api secret\n\nThe bridge allows you to provide these information over command options or environment variables:\n\n**Command options**\n```\n$  ./cli sync \\ -s EU \\\n-u DexcomUsername \\\n-p DexcomPassword \\\n-i http://my-nightscout-instance \\\n-a NightscoutApiSecret\n```\n\n**Environment variables**\n\n```\nDEXCOM_FOLLOWER_USERNAME=DexomUsername DEXCOM_FOLLOWER_PASSWORD=DexcomPassword DEXCOM_FOLLOWER_SERVER=EU NIGHTSCOUT_INSTANCE_URL=https://my-nightscout-instance NIGHTSCOUT_API_SECRET=NightscoutApiSecret ./cli sync  \n```\n## Development\n\nJust checkout this repository and install the dependencies:\n\n```\n$ npm i\n```\n\nNow you can do your changes.
