The skills are short\nguides that state intent; the tooling carries the mechanics (interfaces over\ninstructions).\n\n- `scout` grills an unclear task one compact question at a time across a fixed\n  planning sweep, then records the selected decision brief on the shelf.\n- `compass` settles a direction interactively — disposable visuals and\n  prototypes, one decision-driving question at a time — and records the\n  outcome on the external decision shelf.\n- `relay` takes a bounded brief (one task or independent parallel lanes),\n  does the work with the harness's native isolation, and returns one compact\n  receipt.\n- `cairn` preserves and resumes working context in homes that already own it\n  (issue, PR, shelf, memory) instead of scattering plan and handoff files\n  through the repository.\n- `decision-shelf` is the CLI interface to the shelf: durable, agent-agnostic\n  HTML decision records kept outside every repository. Its help text is the\n  manual the skills defer to. `decision-shelf bridge` turns a record's\n  acceptance criteria into a failing test scaffold, so implementation binds\n  to an executable spec instead of prose.\n- `delivery` carries relay's delivery mechanics: `delivery checks` discovers\n  and runs a repository's documented checks, and `delivery receipt` drafts a\n  receipt bound to the exact head. Branching and worktree isolation stay with\n  git and the harness.\n\n## Install\n\n```sh\nnpx @dylanmccavitt/agent-skills@latest\n```\n\nThe installer is cross-harness: one marker-backed bundle lives under\n`~/.agents/agent-skills` (the canonical skills home), and package-managed\nskill links are created in `~/.agents/skills`, `$CODEX_HOME/skills`, and\n`~/.claude/skills` (override with `--agents-home`, `--codex-home`,\n`--claude-home`, or the `AGENTS_HOME`, `CODEX_HOME`, `CLAUDE_CONFIG_DIR`\nenvironment variables). A marker-backed bundle from an earlier Codex-only\ninstall is migrated automatically.\n\nUpgrading removes only package-owned legacy skill links (including the retired\nv2 skills `teamwork`, `governed-delivery`, `prototype`, `decision-lab`, and\n`deviling`) and exact package-owned hook entries. Unrelated skills and\nambiguous or unmanaged state are preserved or rejected rather than\noverwritten.\n\nScout was previously distributed outside this package.
