Lets Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client read and write your Lumen docs through your normal account.\n\nThings you can ask Claude after wiring it up:\n\n- List the docs in my Mia & Sam workspace.\n- Create a doc called Q3 planning under Platform engineering notes, with these bullets.\n- Read the Onboarding doc and summarize what's open.\n- Append a Decisions section to the Architecture decisions doc.\n\nThe server is a thin translation layer between Claude's JSON-RPC tool calls and Lumen's HTTP API. It runs locally with your token, so OPA Rego policies, rate limits, and visibility rules apply the same as if you'd hit the API yourself.\n\n## Install\n\n```bash\nnpm install -g @emmanuelkimaswa/lumen-mcp\n```\n\n## Configure\n\nLog in to Lumen in a browser, open DevTools, copy the value of the `token` cookie. That's your `LUMEN_TOKEN`.\n\n### Claude Desktop / Claude Code\n\nAdd to `~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json` (or your platform's equivalent):\n\n```json\n{\n  \"mcpServers\": {\n    \"lumen\": {\n      \"command\": \"lumen-mcp\",\n      \"env\": {\n        \"LUMEN_URL\": \"https://lumen.jengahq.com\",\n        \"LUMEN_TOKEN\": \"your-token-here\"\n      }\n    }\n  }\n}\n```\n\nRestart the client. Lumen's tools show up in the tools list.\n\n### Cursor\n\nSame JSON shape, dropped into Cursor's MCP settings.\n\n## Tools\n\n| Name | What it does |\n|---|---|\n| `list_workspaces` | Lists workspaces you can access |\n| `list_docs` | Lists docs, optionally filtered by `workspace_slug` |\n| `read_doc` | Returns a doc's title, HTML content, metadata |\n| `create_doc` | Creates a new doc, optionally as a subpage with initial HTML |\n| `append_to_doc` | Appends HTML to the end of a doc |\n| `rename_doc` | Renames a doc |\n| `list_comments` | Lists comment threads on a doc |\n\nI left destructive operations out on purpose. No delete, no remove-collaborator, no move. If you need those, the web UI is right there.\n\n## Develop\n\n```bash\ncd apps/mcp\nnpm install\nnpm run dev\nnpm run build\n```\n\nThe server reads JSON-RPC on stdin. You can poke it manually:\n\n```bash\necho '{\"jsonrpc\":\"2.0\",\"id\":1,\"method\":\"tools/list\"}' | \\\n  LUMEN_URL=... LUMEN_TOKEN=... npm run -s start\n```\n\n## License\n\nMIT.\n","readmeFilename":"README.md","_rev":"1-3bb5cec91be26e88546114fe54bad1e4"}
