This reimplements distributed systems problems: service discovery, routing, consensus, backpressure, but for LLMs.\n\nStigmergy sidesteps all of that. The environment carries the state. Agents are stateless reactive workers. It supports **AWS Bedrock routing** via the `bedrock` config option for enterprise deployments.\n\nThe provider assembles context by walking signal lineage (`caused_by` chains), giving the agent full awareness of the work pipeline state.\n\n**Model tiers, not model IDs.** Every `model` field takes an alias, `'fable' | 'opus' | 'sonnet' | 'haiku'`, that resolves to the current model at call time, or a function of the signal:\n\n```typescript\nwithClaudeCode({ model: 'opus', prompt })                                  // alias\nwithClaudeCode({ model: (s) => s.meta.tags?.includes('hard') ? Signatures cover the semantic content (type, payload, lineage) but not mutable state (concentration, timestamps).\n- **Bridge attestation** - when a signal crosses environments via a bridge, the bridge appends a signed attestation. Each attestation signs over the previous, creating a linked chain of custody.\n- **Trust levels** - signals are classified as `verified` (valid signature + chain), `attested` (bridge chain valid, origin unsigned), `unverified` (no provenance), or `rejected` (verification failed).\n- **Sentinel colonies** - monitor an environment for trust violations and deposit report signals that other colonies can react to.\n\n## Environment adapters\n\nAny shared substrate that supports observe/deposit/withdraw/claim/watch can be a Mandible environment.\n\n### Filesystem (implemented)\n\nSignals are JSON files. Claims use atomic file operations. A gated signal sits at **concentration 0** - present in the environment but invisible to every sensor that filters on `minConcentration` until its preconditions exist (or have been withdrawn, i.e. completed).
