The full licence text is vendored verbatim beside this file as `OFL.txt`.

Obligation surface
------------------

Reserved Font Names: **Liberation**, **Arimo**, **Tinos**, **Cousine**.
Under OFL 1.1 condition 3, no Modified Version of this Font Software may
be distributed under any of those names without written permission from
the corresponding copyright holder. "Modified Version" is defined by the
licence as any addition, deletion or substitution of any part of the Font
Software, or any change to its format — which includes **subsetting**.
This is why the faces are vendored whole and unmodified: a pre-subsetted
face could no longer be called "Liberation".

Notice retention (OFL 1.1 condition 2): each copy of the Font Software,
whether distributed on its own or bundled, must carry the copyright
notice above and the licence text. `OFL.txt` and this file must therefore
travel with `liberation/*.ttf` in any redistribution, and must not be
removed from this directory.

What a downstream redistributor owes:

  - retain the copyright notice above and the full `OFL.txt`;
  - not sell the Font Software on its own (OFL 1.1 condition 1 — bundling
    it inside a larger work, sold or not, is permitted);
  - not use the Reserved Font Names for a modified version;
  - keep any derivative under the OFL as well (condition 5), which binds
    only the Font Software, not the software that uses it.

The licence covers the vendored faces only. This package's own source is
licensed separately; see the package LICENSE.

Provenance, per-file sha256 and the upstream archive digest are locked in
`PROVENANCE.json` beside this file.
