Resource identifiers and request fields live together in the first named parameter object; paginated methods still take `CallOptions` second. `pooled`, `confirmSelfDemotion`, and `confirmSelfLockout` belong in that input object. Database rename uses `databaseName` for the current name and `name` for the replacement. Payload field spelling is unchanged. An empty path parameter builds a URL with an empty segment, which the Neon\nAPI answers with a redirect rather than a `400`; that can surface as a `\"network\"` error\nrather than anything that names the argument.\n\n## Cancellation & deadlines\n\nPass a `signal` to cancel a call, or `requestTimeoutMs` to bound it. Poll again with a fresh budget\n  // instead of calling create a second time.\n  const resumed = await neon.operations.waitFor({ operations: error.operations }, {\n    timeoutMs: 120_000,\n  });\n  if (resumed.error) throw resumed.error;\n}\n```\n\n`requestTimeoutMs` must be a positive number of milliseconds up to `2147483647`, or\n`Infinity`. Anything else — `0`, a negative, `NaN`, or a value past that range — is\nrejected with a `NeonClientError` when the client is created or the call is made, rather\nthan silently becoming an instant timeout or no timeout at all.\n\nCancellation reaches everything the SDK controls: the request and its retries, readiness\npolling, each page of a paginated walk, and the multi-request `postgres.connectionString`\nresolver. The one thing it cannot interrupt is your own code — a `snapshots.restore`\n`preview` callback receives the signal as its second argument so it can cooperate, and the\nrestore is left un-finalized if the call is cancelled around it.\n\n**Calls are unbounded unless you set `requestTimeoutMs`**, which is what they have always\nbeen. `requestTimeoutMs` covers one request and all of its retries; readiness polling keeps\nits own budget in `wait.timeoutMs`, so setting one does not silently cap the other.\n\n`retries` interacts with it: a `Retry-After` is never shortened, because retrying earlier\nthan the server asked is worse than not retrying. The `for await` stream always throws on a page error.\n\nA deadline covers **one consumption** — a whole `all()`, or a whole iteration — rather than\neach page, since that is the unit a caller waits on. A `Paginated` is lazy and reusable, so\nconsuming it twice gets a fresh deadline each time.\n\n## Readiness & workflows\n\nNeon mutations are asynchronous (they return `operations`). `waitForReadiness` blocks until they settle.\n\nOmit the client option to use per-method defaults: `projects.create`, `projects.createAndConnect`, `branches.create`, and `branches.createAndConnect` poll; other mutations (for example `projects.update`) do not. `createNeonClient({ waitForReadiness: false })` disables polling on those four. `createNeonClient({ waitForReadiness: true })` enables it on every mutation that returns operations. Per-call `{ waitForReadiness }` still wins. The connect workflows also hand back a connection string. Per-call `wait` overrides the client's poll interval and timeout for that call, field by field: `{ wait: { timeoutMs: 600_000 } }` keeps the client's `pollIntervalMs`. Pass `neon.client` to reuse the client's auth:\n\n```ts\nimport { raw } from \"@neon/sdk\";\n// or, for guaranteed tree-shaking: import { getProjectBranchSchema } from \"@neon/sdk/raw\";\n\nconst { data, error } = await raw.getProjectBranchSchema({\n  client: neon.client,\n  path: { project_id, branch_id },\n  query: { db_name: \"neondb\" }, // db_name is required\n});\n```\n\n**The raw layer speaks the exact same result contract as the ergonomic client.** By default a\nraw call resolves to a `{ data, error }` `NeonResult` with the typed `NeonErrorUnion` on the error\nchannel; pass `throwOnError: true` to get the bare resource and throw instead — and the\nreturn type narrows accordingly:\n\n```ts\n// bare resource, throws a NeonErrorUnion member on failure\nconst { project } = await raw.getProject({\n  client: neon.client,\n  path: { project_id },\n  throwOnError: true,\n});\n```\n\nThere is no `responseStyle` switch — `throwOnError` is the only one. `neon.client` is the\nunderlying configured Fetch client; `raw.*` are the wrapped generated functions, and all\nrequest/response/error **types** are re-exported flat from `@neon/sdk` for\n`import type { Project, Branch, … }`.\n\n## Regenerating the client\n\nThe client is generated from a vendored, pinned copy of the spec in [`spec/neon-openapi.json`](./spec/neon-openapi.json) using [`@hey-api/openapi-ts`](https://heyapi.dev).\n\n```bash\npnpm --filter @neon/sdk spec:pull   # refresh the vendored spec from neon.com\npnpm --filter @neon/sdk generate     # regenerate src/client\npnpm --filter @neon/sdk build        # typecheck + bundle\n```\n\nA coverage test (`src/neon/coverage.test.ts`) fails CI whenever the generated operation set changes, so every new endpoint is consciously wrapped or left raw-only.
