Their origin,\nlicenses and the modifications made are recorded in\n[third-party-notices.md](third-party-notices.md).\n\nNumbers behave the way XPath specifies rather than the way JavaScript does:\n`xs:decimal` is computed on its decimal digits, so `0.1 + 0.2 = 0.3` holds, and an\n`xs:integer` outside the safe range of a double keeps every digit, so a checksum over a\n24 digit number is exact.\n\n```ts\nevaluateXPathToBoolean('0.1 + 0.2 = 0.3'); // true\nevaluateXPathToString('string(xs:integer(\"830993497117024304\") + 1)'); // '830993497117024305'\nevaluateXPathToString('string(xs:integer(\"183988374829384736283847\") mod 97)'); // '27', the step an IBAN check needs\n```\n\nThe engine is measured against the part of the [W3C QT3 test suite](https://github.com/w3c/qt3tests)\nthat covers arithmetic, casting and serialization: `pnpm test` runs 5,773 of its cases,\nerror codes included, and the 148 it does not satisfy are listed with their reason in\n`test/fixtures/qt3/known-gaps.json`. The larger ones are `xs:float` (held as a double,\nso it is not 32 bit), durations in `fn:sum`, `fn:avg`, `fn:min` and `fn:max`, and casting\nto `xs:QName`. That file is a closed set: a new failure, a gap that starts passing and a\ngap that stops being reached all break the test. Measuring against W3C test material is\nnot a conformance claim.\n\n### Schematron validation\n\n`@push.rocks/smartxml/schematron` validates a document against ISO Schematron\nrules. Schematron states the conditions a document must satisfy as XPath\nexpressions, which a grammar such as XSD cannot express.
