\n\n# QuickCall Krew\n\nQuickCall Krew is a minimal, extensible terminal coding agent. It gives a model a small set of tools (`read`, `write`, `edit`, `bash`, and more) and a clean interactive TUI, then gets out of the way so you can shape it to your workflow with extensions, skills, prompt templates, and themes.\n\n> QuickCall Krew is a fork of the [Pi](https://pi.dev) coding agent harness, adapted for QuickCall's hiring workflows.\n\n## Quick Start\n\nInstall globally:\n\n```bash\nnpm install -g @quickcall/krew\n```\n\nAuthenticate with an API key and start:\n\n```bash\nexport ANTHROPIC_API_KEY=sk-ant-...\nquickcall\n```\n\nOr sign in with an existing subscription:\n\n```bash\nquickcall\n/login # then pick a provider\n```\n\nThen just talk to the agent. Extend it with [skills](#customization), [prompt templates](#customization), [extensions](#customization), or [packages](#packages).\n\n## Providers & Models\n\nQuickCall Krew ships with a maintained list of tool-capable models per provider. Authenticate by subscription (`/login`) or API key, then switch models with `/model` (or Ctrl+L).\n\n- **Subscriptions:** Anthropic Claude, OpenAI ChatGPT (Codex), GitHub Copilot\n- **API keys:** Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Google Gemini / Vertex, Amazon Bedrock, Mistral, Groq, Cerebras, xAI, OpenRouter, DeepSeek, and more\n\nAdd custom providers via `~/.quickcall/agent/models.json` (for OpenAI/Anthropic/Google-compatible APIs) or via an extension for anything bespoke.\n\n## Interactive Mode\n\nThe TUI shows a startup header (shortcuts, loaded context, skills, extensions), the message stream, an editor, and a footer with working directory, session, token usage, cost, and the active model.\n\nEditor highlights:\n\n| Feature | How |\n|---------|-----|\n| File reference | Type `@` to fuzzy-search project files |\n| Multi-line | Shift+Enter |\n| Images | Ctrl+V to paste, or drag onto the terminal |\n| Bash | `!command` runs and sends output to the model; `!!command` runs without sending |\n\nType `/` for commands (`/model`, `/settings`, `/resume`, `/new`, `/compact`, `/share`, `/export`, and more). Use these for project conventions and common commands. Disable with `--no-context-files` (`-nc`).\n\nYou can replace the system prompt with `.quickcall/SYSTEM.md` (project) or `~/.quickcall/agent/SYSTEM.md` (global), or extend it with `APPEND_SYSTEM.md`.\n\n## Customization\n\nQuickCall Krew is built to be reshaped rather than configured into a corner:\n\n- **Prompt templates** — reusable Markdown prompts, invoked as `/name`.\n- **Skills** — on-demand capability packages following the [Agent Skills standard](https://agentskills.io), invoked as `/skill:name` or loaded automatically.\n- **Extensions** — TypeScript modules that add tools, commands, shortcuts, event handlers, and UI (sub-agents, plan mode, permission gates, custom editors, and more).\n- **Themes** — built-in `dark` and `light`, with hot-reload while you edit.\n\nEach lives under `~/.quickcall/agent//` (global) or `.quickcall//` (project), or can be shared via a [package](#packages).\n\n## Packages\n\nBundle and share extensions, skills, prompts, and themes via npm or git:\n\n```bash\nquickcall install npm:@scope/pi-tools # install from npm\nquickcall install git:github.com/user/repo # install from git\nquickcall list # list installed packages\nquickcall update # update the CLI and packages\nquickcall config # enable/disable resources\n```\n\n> **Security:** packages run with full system access — extensions execute arbitrary code and skills can instruct the model to run anything.
