Lighthouse audits performance, axe-core audits accessibility, and **ax-audit** tells you how ready your site is for agents — discovery files, crawler policy, usage rights, content negotiation, and the failures that are invisible from the inside:\n\n- Your robots.txt allows GPTBot and your firewall returns 403 to it.\n- You blocked `Google-Extended` expecting to leave AI Overviews. It does not do that.\n- Your robots.txt permits AI training while your RSL licence prohibits it, so which terms apply depends on which file a crawler read.\n- Your content only exists after hydration, so the crawlers that do not run JavaScript see an empty page.\n- A missing page answers `200 OK`, so an agent stores the apology as the answer.\n\n## What it checks\n\n26 checks across five areas. Most crawlers do not run JavaScript, so a site whose content appears only after hydration is invisible to them no matter how many discovery files it publishes.\n\nProtocol checks are **conditional**: a blog has no API to describe, so those report `n/a` and are excluded from the score rather than counted as failures. Use `--profile` to audit against what a site intends to build.\n\nEvery finding links to a step-by-step **[remediation guide](https://axrush.com/guides)**.\n\n## AX Rush service access (v6)\n\nInstall with `npm install ax-audit`. Version 6 is a CLI and SDK for the private\nAX Rush service: **the npm package contains no audit engine or check implementations**.\n\n1. Subscribe at [AX Rush](https://axrush.com/pricing).\n2. Generate an organization key in [Account → API keys](https://axrush.com/account/api).\n3. Store it as `AXRUSH_API_KEY` in your environment or trusted CI secret store.\n4. Run `npx ax-audit@6 https://example.com`.\n\n`audit({ url, apiKey })` can pass a key explicitly. Never commit keys or put them\nin command-line arguments. The service checks the key and an active paid\nsubscription for **each audit**; revoked keys, canceled subscriptions, past-due\npayments, trial-only and complimentary-only accounts cannot execute the engine.\n\nThe client sends the target URL and audit options to\n`https://axrush.com/api/v1/engine/audit`, with the key in the Authorization header.\nAX Rush fetches the public pages and returns the report. The key is never sent\nto the target website. This endpoint does not save the report to your dashboard;\nuse the authenticated site API for stored scan history.\n\nOnly publicly reachable HTTP(S) sites on ports 80/443 are supported. Localhost,\nprivate networks, URL credentials and custom ports are rejected. CI should audit\na public preview or deployed environment. Internet access to AX Rush is required;\nthere is no offline mode or local fallback. Current abuse limits are 10 audits\nper organization per hour and 5 per target per hour, shared across keys and scan\nsurfaces. A batch consumes one audit for each URL.\n\nRendering an existing report, reading check descriptions and comparing saved\nbaselines remain local. `checks` contains metadata only; `checks[i].run()` was\nremoved. The CLI and client utilities remain Apache-2.0.
