into one\n\n## Getting Started\nThis plugin requires Grunt `~0.4.5`\n\nIf you haven't used [Grunt](http://gruntjs.com/) before, be sure to check out the [Getting Started](http://gruntjs.com/getting-started) guide, as it explains how to create a [Gruntfile](http://gruntjs.com/sample-gruntfile) as well as install and use Grunt plugins. Once you're familiar with that process, you may install this plugin with this command:\n\n```shell\nnpm install grunt-json-bake --save-dev\n```\n\nOnce the plugin has been installed, it may be enabled inside your Gruntfile with this line of JavaScript:\n\n```js\ngrunt.loadNpmTasks('grunt-json-bake');\n```\n\n## The \"json_bake\" task\n\n### Overview\nThis module allows you to merge multiple JSON files into one. It looks for a certain hooks like so `\"key\": \"{{path/to/folder}}\"`.\nAll values are parsed and replaced. If the hook is a path to a JSON file, the hook will be replaced with the JSON file content.\nIf the hook is a path to a another file allowed to be inclued, the hook will be replaced with the file content. If the hook is the path to a folder it will take all the JSON files in this folder and put them into an array.\n\nIncludes can be nested. That means any JSON that you include will be recursively parsed a swell. Also folders of JSON files can be nested. When\na folder is turned into an array it parses the content of a folder for json files. If it comes upon an folder, this will be turned into an array\nand recursivly all the content will be travirsed for JSON files/folders.\n\n```js\ngrunt.initConfig( {\n    json_bake: {\n\n        your_target: {\n            options: {},\n\n            // multiple files in a key value pair\n            // the key is the destination and\n            // the value is the root of the parsable\n            files: {\n                \"dist/final.json\": \"app/base.json\"\n            }\n        }\n    }\n} );\n```\n\n### Options\n\n#### options.parsePattern\nType: `Regex`\nDefault value: `/\\{\\{\\s*([\\/\\.\\-\\w]*)\\s*\\}\\}/`\n\nThis Regex is used to parse every value of all key-value-pairs. If the value has a formet like `{{path/to/something}}` it is resolved and parsed as well.\nThe path is relative to that file and can point to a folder or a file.\n\n#### options.stripComments\nType: `Boolean`\nDefault value: `false`\n\nIf this is set to `true` it will remove every key-value pair that has the key `\"{{comment}}\"`.\n\n#### options.indentation\nType: `String`\nDefault value: `\"/t\"`\n\nThis defines the amount of indentation of the JSON being generated. Setting this to `null` will produce a minfied version.\nTo get what NPM uses as a default use two spaces: `\"  \"`.\n\n\n#### options.includeFiles\nType: `Object` with keys and values. See the default values below.\n\n```javascript\nincludeFiles: {\n    json: { resultType: \"json\"},\n    html: { resultType: \"string\", separator: \"\"  },\n    csv: { resultType: \"string\", separator: \";\"  }\n}\n```\n\nThe keys of `includeFiles` define the extensions of the files that can be included with `{{filename.ext}}`.\nThe `resultType` can have the values `json` or `string`.\nIf the `resultType` is `json`, then the file is included as a parsed JSON object.\nIf the `resultType` is `string`, then the file content is included as a string.\nIf the file content consists of multiple lines you can define the `separator` to connect the lines.\n\n#### options.variables\nType: `Object` with keys and values.\nDefault value: `\"{}\"` (empty object).\n\nThis is used to define variables that will be replaced by their corresponding values.\nThe variables can be used anywhere in the json file(s), by wrapping the variable name with `\"@\"`.\nThe variable definition style can be changed with the next setting.\n\n#### options.variableRegex\nType: `Object` with keys and values.\nDefault value: `/@(\\w+)@/g`\n\nThis Regex is used to parse all string values in the JSON files to swap them for their counterpart\nin the `options.variable` object. By default is would look like `\"some/@foo@/path\"`.\n\n### Usage Examples\n\n#### Recursive Bake including files and folders\n\nGiven the following folder structure:\n\n```\nbase.json\nincludes\n  | - author.json\n  \\ - books\n        | - 1.json\n        | - 2.json\n        \\ - 3.json\n```\n\nThis is the `base.json`:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"author\": \"{{includes/author.json}}\",\n    \"books\": \"{{includes/books}}\"\n}\n```\n\nWith an `includes/author.json`:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"name\": \"Mathias Paumgarten\",\n    \"url\": \"http://www.mathias-paumgarten.com\"\n}\n```\n\nand three files in `includes/books/*` like so:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"name\": \"awesome book\",\n    \"released\": \"2014\"\n}\n```\n\nThis would generate a new json from `base.json`:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"author\": {\n        \"name\": \"Mathias Paumgarten\",\n        \"url\": \"http://www.mathias-paumgarten.com\"\n    },\n    \"books\": [\n        {\n            \"name\": \"awesome book\",\n            \"released\": \"2014\"\n        },\n        { ... },\n        { ... }\n    ]\n}\n```\n\n`\"books\"` will be an array of the content of each of the JSON files in the book folder.\n\n#### Removing comment lines\n\nMake sure to turn it on in the `Gruntfile.js`:\n\n```js\ngrunt.initConfig( {\n    json_bake: {\n        options: {\n            stripComments: true\n        },\n\n        your_target: {\n            \"generated.json\": \"base.json\"\n        }\n    }\n} );\n```\n\nIn your _base.json_ you can now add comments like so:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"{{comment}}\": \"This is a list of people\",\n    \"authors\": [ \"John\", \"Mike\", \"Susan\" ]\n}\n```\n\nThis will generate _generated.json_:\n```json\n{\n    \"authors\": [ \"John\", \"Mike\", \"Susan\" ]\n}\n```\n\n\n#### Using variables\n\nDefine the targets and variables in `Gruntfile.js`:\n\n```js\ngrunt.initConfig( {\n    json_bake: {\n\n        production: {\n            options: {\n                variables: {\n                    \"env\" : \"production\"\n                }\n            },\n            files: {\n                \"production.json\": \"base.json\"\n            }\n        },\n        dev: {\n            options: {\n                variables: {\n                    \"env\" : \"dev\"\n                }\n            },\n            files: {\n               \"dev.json\": \"base.json\"\n            }\n        }\n    }\n} );\n```\n\nIn your _base.json_ you can now use the defined variable like so:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"credentials\": \"{{includes/@env@/credentials.json}}\",\n}\n```\n\nWith an `includes/production/credentials.json`:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"username\": \"admin\",\n    \"database\": \"production_db\"\n}\n```\n\nand `includes/dev/credentials.json`:\n\n```json\n{\n    \"username\": \"admin\",\n    \"database\": \"dev_db\"\n}\n```\n\n\nRunning json_bake:dev will generate _dev.json_:\n```json\n{\n    \"credentials\": {\n        \"username\": \"admin\",\n        \"database\": \"dev_db\"\n    }\n}\n```\n\n\nAnd running json_bake:production will generate _production.json_:\n```json\n{\n    \"credentials\": {\n        \"username\": \"admin\",\n        \"database\": \"production_db\"\n    }\n}\n```\n\n## Contributing\nIn lieu of a formal style guide, take care to maintain the existing coding style.
