the [Getting Started](http://gruntjs.com/getting-started) guide, as it explains how to create a [Gruntfile](http://gruntjs.com/sample-gruntfile) as well as install and use Grunt plugins. Once you're familiar with that process, you may install this plugin with this command:\n\n```shell\nnpm install grunt-ssi --save-dev\n```\n\nOnce the plugin has been installed, it may be enabled inside your Gruntfile with this line of JavaScript:\n\n```js\ngrunt.loadNpmTasks('grunt-ssi');\n```\n\n## The \"ssi\" task\n\n### Overview\nIn your project's Gruntfile, add a section named `ssi` to the data object passed into `grunt.initConfig()`.\n\n```js\ngrunt.initConfig({\n ssi: {\n options: {\n // Task-specific options go here.\n },\n your_target: {\n // Target-specific file lists and/or options go here.\n },\n },\n});\n```\n\n### Options\n\n#### options.baseDir\nType: `String`\nDefault value: `'html'`\n\nThe Directory location where to locate Server Side Includes from.\n\n#### options.cacheDir\nType: `String`\nDefault value: `'.tmp/.ssiCache'`\n\nThe Directory Location to store the cached ssi files\n\n#### options.includesRegex\nType: `Regex`\nDefault value: `//g`\n\nThe Regex Object used to find and parse SSI Include Tags\n\n#### options.cache\nType: `String | Boolean`\nDefault value: `false`\n\nWhether or not to check the cache when processing the file. `true` to use the cached version, `false` to clear the file cache, and `'all'` to clear all cached files\n\n#### options.ext\nType: `String`\nDefault value: `'.html'`\n\nThe extension to use for the outputed files.\n\n#### options.encoding\nType: `String`\nDefault value: `'utf8'`\n\nFile encoding used to read and write out the files.\n\n### Usage Examples\n\n#### Standard Options\nTypical Settings as such read in `.html` files in the `/html` directory, and outputs the parsed files to `/.tmp/html`.
