Hello everyone and happy hump day! Apparently Ma Nature had her grumpy pants on last night and delivered a small amount of freezing rain but don’t fret…our groomers are some of the best in the business and will have 37 trails groomed out for you this morning. We are looking at a total of 499 acres open for skiing and riding with 62 trails spread across our four mountain faces. On groomed terrain, expect a machine groomed wet pack. As for the ungroomed stuff, there is likely a thin glaze over top of wet packed snow. Patrol will be out there first thing evaluating ungroomed terrain, but with the mild temps in the forecast things should soften up.

We can expect some delayed lift openings today due to icing but our crews are out there getting things cleaned up. Also, Charlie's Chase will be closed today for Valley League.

Weather for today is a bit out of character for this time of year with temps expected to reach the upper-40’s top-to-bottom under cloudy skies. It is foggy out there to start the day and we are expecting that to stick around for a little bit but not all day. Wind gusts are forecasted to reach up to 60 mph out of the SW today which may affect lift service. Be sure to check back here for the latest.

With that said, we are anticipating cold temps to make their return by late Thursday evening. Our snowmakers will be charging the system as soon as possible in an effort to make some more of the best manmade snow on the planet for the weekend!

Lifts start spinning right at 9am so get here to claim the first tracks on your favorite trail! Lift ticket rates for today are $75 for adults (19-64), $58 for youth and seniors (18 and under, 65+) and as always kids 5 and under ski for FREE.

Sunday is The Big Game and we’ve got some crazy lift ticket deals for ya!

AM Express

Every Saturday starting January 5th – March 9th.

The Bluebird Express will open at 7:30 am for season passholders and Grand Summit/condo owners. Lift access will be available anytime between 7:30 to 8 am (you do not have to be there at 7:30 am!) and the Main Face of the mountain will be open to only passholders. This is no longer a guided tour but you’ll see Mount Snow management still taking runs with you all. (We really enjoy the early morning cord too!) You pick your trails and your pace.

As in year’s past this is only open to Passholders (and our Grand Summit Hotel Partner’s Program) you must have your pass with you. No pass, no lift.

Sunbrook, North Face and Carinthia will not open until 8 am and keep in mind if you do go down in these areas you can encounter groomers, snowmaking, etc. You’ll also be stuck down there until the lifts open!

Truth in Snow Reporting

Our snow reporting goal is simple, transparency. No one should ever second guess what a mountain reports as its conditions, weather, trail surface or anything else. When you pick up a snow report at Mount Snow it should be trusted as if you wrote it yourself.

This is why over the past two seasons we have drastically overhauled our snow reporting philosophy. It began with a fundamental change to report percentage open as opposed to trails. It’s pretty simple, an acre is an acre but one trail can certainly be a lot different than another. We continued last season by revamping our trail map to what we believe is a more accurate trail depiction. When you ski from the top of the mountain to the bottom it should be on one trail, not a collection of upper’s and lower’s. We have reduced our trail count from 102 to 80. As well we no longer mark tree terrain, our trees are always open to those whose ability permits them to ride it.

In short, you come to Mount Snow for a getaway, not a hassle. Enjoy our 588 acres of the best quality snow on the east coast and know that when we say we have two feet of fresh powder we mean it. On the flip side when we say that it’s raining two inches, we’ll see you in Cuzzins for a drink!

Our Snow Guarantee

Our Snow Guarantee
There are certain uncontrollable factors in the alpine environment. Weather and skier/rider traffic can both result in changes in the surface conditions or trail opening status. To ensure you’re pleased with the skiing and riding, we’ve created one of the most comprehensive guarantees in skiing and snowboarding.

If you are dissatisfied with snow conditions after taking at least ONE RUN and within ONE HOUR of the purchase of your full-day or multi-day ticket, you may exchange it for a voucher of comparable value entitling you to a return visit any day within 1 year from the voucher’s date of issuance. On subsequent days of your multi-day lift package, you must take at least ONE RUN and you MUST request your voucher prior to 10 am.
Early season tickets (opening day through mid-December) and late season tickets (mid-March through closing day) are not eligible for the snow guarantee.

Please note that this is a snow condition guarantee only. No vouchers will be given for weather or lift related conditions. Tickets purchased or picked up after 12 noon are not eligible for snow guarantee.

No cash refunds will be granted.

Uphill Travel Policy (hiking, skinning, snowshoeing)

Mount Snow (the “Resort”) and the United States Forest Service (“USFS”) encourage the use of public lands. The Resort is located on both public and private lands. Even on public/USFS lands, you must abide by the Resort rules and USFS restrictions and follow its recommendations. Be advised, private landowners may also close or restrict access to lands they own adjacent to public lands and your knowledge and adherence to their wishes are appreciated.

Terrain Access
Mount Snow is accessible for skinning, hiking, and snowshoeing from dawn to dusk during our winter operating season. From dawn until opening and from closing until dusk the Resort may have operations in progress including, but not limited to, snowmaking, grooming, vegetation trimming, electrical work, or terrain park feature construction. Due to snowmaking, grooming activities and associated vehicle traffic typically occurring on the mountain, we do not allow guests to access the Mount Snow trail system for skinning, skiing, riding, hiking or snowshoeing before the resort is open for the winter operating season.

Uphill Travel
During the winter operating season, guests wishing to access the Mount Snow trail system through hiking, snow shoeing, or skinning may do so after purchasing an “Uphill Travel” pass ($10 for a day pass, available in Mount Snow Sports at the Grand, or $49 for an “Uphill Travel Season Pass”, available at the Season Pass Office in the Clocktower Building) or be in possession of a valid season’s pass with a complimentary “Uphill Travel” endorsement. Guests are permitted to hike, snow shoe, or skin from dawn to dusk only. Guests engaging in uphill travel are encouraged to check a snow report before leaving the base area to become informed of closed terrain or trails and to be made aware of any snowmaking, events, or other operations which may be in progress.

• Access to Resort trails is at your own risk
• Closed trails and terrain parks may not be marked or signed from the bottom, top, or other access points on the trail. Information as to which trails and terrain parks are open can be found on our daily snow report, on the illuminated trail boards at the bottom of lift #9, lift #11, and lift #2, as well as on our website
• The trails and terrain parks are designed for use by skiers and riders and any form of downhill descent other than skis, snowboard, snow shoeing, or hiking is prohibited. All skis and snowboards should be equipped with a device to prevent run-away equipment
• Sledding or sliding in any form is prohibited
• Guests accessing the trail system through uphill travel are asked to stay to the side of the trail, wear visible clothing, and choose a route which gives downhill traffic the best view of your location. Be aware of sharp turns and knolls where you may not be in view of downhill traffic
• Guests accessing the Mount Snow trail system must adhere to Your Responsibility Code
• Your “Uphill Travel” pass must be worn at all times
• Snow shoeing trail maps are available at Mount Snow Sports at the Grand and these trails are the preferred method of travel for hiking and snow shoeing
• For the safety of our guests dogs are not allowed on Resort property
