Conditions Comments

7:30AM SATURDAY, JANUARY 12, 2013

CURRENT WEATHER - Clear
MID-MOUNTAIN WIND - Calm
VISIBILITY - Unlimited
SNOW SURFACE - Tracked Powder. Deep in wind-blown areas, shallow in wind-exposed areas

Happy Saturday! Clear skies and no wind this morning, but it is a chilly -3 degrees at the base, 8 degrees at mid-mountain. The forecasted high is 21 degrees, so hopefully these temperatures won't last too long. Please dress accordingly. Groomers have been out all night mixing all the new snow from the last few days into the runs, so look for smooth corduroy and pristine parks on this beautiful January day.

Cold-weather conscience outerwear and a face mask are recommended for the early part of the day. A great excuse to check out the extensive selection of face masks and cold-weather goods in the retail shop, located in the Mountain Gateway Building.

Helpful Hint: We schedule two full shifts of grooming crews every night to groom up to 50 runs. In this report, we designate whether a run was groomed on the first shift (4pm - 12am) or the second shift (12am - 8am). Please bear in mind that during snowstorms, runs groomed on either shift may have additional snow accumulation.
