is a small library for quickly pseudolocalizing strings. [Pseudolocalization](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudolocalization) is a method for testing the internationalization aspects of your application by replacing your strings with altered versions that maintains string readability while including the most problematic characteristics including text length and character length. It also makes hard coded strings and improperly concatenated strings easy to spot so that they can be properly localized. This library is idempotent eg. it always creates the same string.\n\n## Installation\n\n```bash\nnpm install pseudolocale\n# or\nyarn add pseudolocale\n```\n\n## Using with Node.js\n\nRequires Node.js 24+. The package is ESM-only.\n\n```js\nimport pseudolocale from 'pseudolocale';\n\npseudolocale('This is going to be pseudolocalized %token%.');\n// [!!Ţĥĩś ĩś ĝōĩńĝ ţō ƀē ƥśēũďōĺōćàĺĩźēď %token%.!!]\n```\n\nFrom a CommonJS project it works via Node's `require(esm)`:\n\n```js\nconst pseudolocale = require('pseudolocale').default;\n```\n\n## Using from the command line\n\n_Pseudolocale_ includes a command line interface to make it easy to incorporate it into your build process. Currently it supports passing in individual strings (great for trying things out) or passing in a valid `JSON` document that contains a set of keys and strings. Useful if you will be localizing into languages such as German which can be 30% longer than English.\n\nDefault is `0`.\n\n```js\npseudolocale('This is going to be pseudolocalized %token%.', { extend: 0.3 }); // 30%\n// [!!Ȃ ťēšť ŝťŕĩʼnğ ŵĩťħ â %token%.        !!]\n```\n\n### ExtendCharacter\n\nSpecifies the character used to pad the string when extending. Used to easily spot unlocalized strings.
