is\n[`remarkLintNoTabs`][api-remark-lint-no-tabs].\n\n### `unified().use(remarkLintNoTabs)`\n\nWarn when tabs are used.\n\n###### Parameters\n\nThere are no options.\n\n###### Returns\n\nTransform ([`Transformer` from `unified`][github-unified-transformer]).\n\n## Recommendation\n\nRegardless of the debate in other languages of whether to use tabs versus\nspaces,\nwhen it comes to markdown,\ntabs do not work as expected.\nLargely around things such as block quotes, lists, and indented code.\n\nTake for example block quotes: `>\\ta` gives a paragraph with the text `a`\nin a blockquote,\nso one might expect that `>\\t\\ta` results in indented code with the text `a`\nin a block quote.\n\n```markdown\n>\\ta\n\n>\\t\\ta\n```\n\nYields:\n\n```html\n
